So far all seem pretty sloppy paint. From a distance looks good for sure. The Don hs is very very off. No expression at all

Wow they even gave IP a lipstick :lol

Terrible paint job, hope SS can make adjustment on the later batches. Some statues will always have issue on the first batch and later got improvements on the later batches.

I'm just wondering size wise, if it fits with the sideshow 1/4 scale pfs.

Size-wise, yes. Base-wise? Well, that's really up to you. It definitely makes for a great stand-alone IP, but GG is making more IM related pieces to accent this one. All of them will have the same acrylic base (which I don't mind with other GG pieces). They'll be out later this year....and I will be getting them both to place alongside IP.

I think I messaged you on statue forum! Haha. I'm wondering if I could make a rocky base for it...

I'm sure you could man, and I bet it would look badass too, but I wouldn't know the first place to look at all. Lol, maybe Spidey can draw one up digitally and then have it sculpted. He's getting pretty good at digi-drawing some of the stuff I've seen on here.

Me personally, I'm not gonna go for a custom base. I actually dig the acylic base it comes with. Utilizing it for the first time takes some getting used to, but it's a different take for sure. It makes the whole thing look classy as hell, and gives you a great focal point on just the piece alone.

I'll admit, it looks strange next to pieces with scenery bases like Sideshow's, but all that'll change once GG releases Igor and Sorayama.

but there's no way in hell I'll be keeping a piece that looks good from
3 metres away! :slap that's just downright nonsense and no one should accept anything other than a high level of quality...if you bought a brand new car and only noticed when you got home that there were scratches, chips or inconsistencies in the paint apps, would you still keep it? :dunno

:exactly: :goodpost:

Not a fan of the GG one but it definitely looks better than the SSC one IMO. It's a shame cuz the SSC one has a pretty cool sculpt and pose...the paint is just not up to my standards.

The GG looks plastic to me. The colors are dull and not metallic looking at all. I have seen it in person and I still like the SSC legacy better.
With a few slight paint touch ups I can get the SSC to be up to par to my standards.

As far as getting my eyes checked, all I got to say is LOL, the camera does not lie.
I can get a macro lens and point it to any statue from SSC and I see imperfections, people forget these are mass produced and will differ with each statue. I hope that you all get a good one. I think its worth getting.

The silver is not meant to be brushed silver BTW

Have to agree buddy :exactly: the Gentle Giant version looks plastic due to the dull colours and looks way less metallic than what the Sideshow version look like. With that said, yours are the best pics i've seen in regards to the overall QC. Congrats again on getting a good one! ;)

As for mine....i still havent opened the box! :lol :lol the fear is in me! :horror

So I commented saying that in Averone's pics the paint bleeding is noticeable, he confirmed it IS noticeable, and my post got deleted. Seriously.

:lol

Good pics Alex, always enjoy seeing your collection posted. Looks like you got the first decent IP statue, glad you enjoy it. I'm sure after you repaint and/or touch it up that it will display much better.

What's your opinion of the arm pointing, closed fist pose that's clearly missing the forearm weaponry? Do you have any intentions of adding a custom one like Andy plans to do?
