Thinking of getting the 1/4 Hot toys IM now..

To be fair bro, I'm hoping that Hot Toys take over the 1/4 scale Iron Man line via you know they are gonna kill it each time and not so much a Russian Roulette of what condition your piece is in when ordering from Sideshow.

On a more positive note, here are the best pics I've seen so far....still far from perfect though

Let's just think about for second...many of us wonder why SS has not addressed what we feel are systemic / chronic QC issues. In my opinion, one reason could be that Sideshow's management does not feel the QC problems are systemic / chronic. In other words, perhaps Sideshow's management truly believes the customers routinely complaining about quality control issue represent a vocal minority of their entire customer base. Business owners are sometimes very reluctant to initiate dramatic wholesale changes for problems / issues they believe only impacts a small percentage of their customer base. Is that an accurate assessment...who knows? None of us has any idea of the percentage of defective products returned to SS in a given year, the number of total customers, etc....

we well never know the number of returns etc.

but we do know SS seems to run out of replacements pretty quick...so either they aren't making many or they vastly underestimate the % of defects.

The weird thing is they do very well with the star wars line (the recent savage is a good example) but seem to have nothing but inconsistency with the marvel and dc stuff....it really is a gamble pre-ordering anything from those lines these days.

Got mine today
Very happy with mine.

#4 in the house

Yours is the best one I've seen.....from a distance. As with all the ones posted so far, as you view close-ups of the pics, some spots and lines look as if they were gone over with a Q-Tip. It's definitely no GG IP, but congrats either way.

Yes, in the few close up pics it's clearly visible the paint bleeding. Just look at the red lines on the border of the chest, on the face plate, on his sides

Yup from far looks ok but if you zoom in the pics you can see the issues with lines and painting, just pulled trigger on the gentle giant iron patriot looks much better in close ups

Yes there are some minor red paint bleeds, but nothing I can't touch up. I guess I can see if I look very close up that lines could be better when they painted the red.

Overall its not something that I can't fix myself, with some TLC. Im happy with the sculpt its very good.
