Has SS responded to this debacle?

To be honest I doubt they will. Just about all of there channels to respond to this type of thing have dried up. At least temporarily. I think, and I could be wrong that a lot of the people who have been in these forums voluntarily have been beat up a bit and have simply moved out to take a brake. Whether or not they come back is another story entirely.

Don't think so. They rarely respond to the consumer

Not entirely true. Igo and Alex use to do a fine job over at SF, BUT over the last few months they have been responding less and less. Now they have been taking a **** kicking over there.... So maybe they decided it wasn't worth volunteering their time there anymore if it wasn't fun.

Sideshow uses every social media outlet available, I see little reason they can't release a statement acknowledging and addressing the problem. Costs them nothing...

Sorry I was talking about the forum based avenues, but I highly doubt we will here anything about this one. Ignoring the problem isn't going to make it go away, but admitting it is a problem may is a step I doubt they will take.

Agreed, they've never acknowledged a problem with the Iron Man line before so I'm not expecting it now.

Received mine, as worse as everybody, thinking to send it back. But the kids at my shop like it.

No doubt in my mind that the IP PF pose and presense is still nice. I POed it for a reason. I just cancelled cuz I knew I wouldn't be happy with the result. Aside from the paint job, I think this piece is really nice. If they had nailed that, it would be a homerun. A lot of people are unhappy about the missing wrist cannon but that doesn't bother me as much. I really like the pose, base, sculpt. But, too good to be true..SSC botched the paint. Until they release an IM piece that doesn't have paint issues, I'm not buying from their IM line.

Hey Satosh, this seems to be the general concensus in regards to the Iron Patriot Maquette. Whilst the paint apps are seriously flawed on this piece, one thing you cant take away is how cool the sculpt, pose and base is. Infact, i'd rate the statue a whopping 8/10 if you take away the sloppy paints...

It would appear that in the case of this statue, the majority (if not all) of the Iron Patriot statues released so far are totally flawed paint wise...its not just one acceptable wavy line here or a paint chip there...we're talking total consistent flaws throughout the piece....and whilst it might look great from a distance, which it does to be fair....is that an acceptable excuse? Now when i say that mine is one of the good ones, i'm talking about it being one of the good (badly painted ones) :lol mine is flawed too...wavy lines, sloppy paint apps, a scratch here and there, etc...this is why i felt it necessary to email Sideshow about these issues and will be looking for a partial refund of some kind cos lets face it...anyone here who's hoping to get a replacement head or body that will be an aesthetic improvement to the one they have now is just kidding themselves :( these Iron Patriot statues are ALL flawed and its just pot luck as to whether you get one that is less severe than others....

With that said, i'll be waiting for Sideshows response to my email as from what i've heard, we've recieved no feedback yet from Sideshow regarding these issues :dunno

Are they going to buy it? :lol

That is the real question ... Have the kids split the cost.

As per our last conversation where we both agreed that SSC wouldn't admit this piece had issues I think it simply comes down to if they admit this is a problem then it really would fall on them to find a solution to the problem. The only solution I see is another production run like SpiderWoman, and I just don't see that happening with this one.

If the past Sideshow Iron Man releases are any indication, you're correct. There's little hope they'll address this publicly and take measures to ensure this doesn't happen anymore or at least minimize it to one in every ten.

It's way overdue that we take a look at the entire Sideshow Iron Man line just to see how many of their end products suffered the same fate of Iron Patriot. If anyone can add a product or any input to the list that I forgot that would be helpful. Red indicates Qc mess, orange indicates I'm unsure atm, green indicates majority success.

Thanks Andy :hi5: Did you keep or return your IP LSB? I can't remember. :lol

full refund on that one bro! :) how they can slap a $1K price tag on it was beyond a joke! The War Machine was practically the same design and cost far less with a superior paint app...its becoming rediculous :slap

Also cancelled my MK42 LSB a day before it shipped as i did'nt feel confident in paying the $1K for a piece that looked totally inferior to the proto pics :( i'll happily reconsider this order if the inhand pics prove otherwise
