Maybe this will help with scaling?

Thanks! This is a big help. Very interesting!

Be careful how much you go by that blueprint image, that led me astray with the stair configuration, it is helpful, but don't use it as the absolute of what the set was.

Yup. these photos are more useful for stair config:

Of course, these aren't the gospel either, and there's the additional issue of the throne on the set being raised a fair amount off the ground (as you can see in the second picture, the bottom of the dais is even with the top of the first step).

I'm going to go with a combination of the reference photos with what will work in the shelf I'm displaying Jabba & Company in, which will be raised platforms that are 10" x 9.5" x 4" on the tailward end, and 12" x 9.5" x 4" on the headward end, with probably two stairs leading up to them.

What I'm going for is to have two levels to display figures on on each side, with the second level about even with the surface of the dais.

I'll revisit all of this out again once I move and have Jabba and company in his permanent home, where I plan to construct the arch.

Your background is looking great Maulfan, though it's a bit darker in the background than I think I want for my display. Would you mind putting out the barbeque as a separate image so I can get it printed and mounted on cardboard for a depth effect?

All the pieces are separarte layers, the foreground arch wall, the background wall, the steps, the background floor, as will the BBQ unit and all of the other backgrounds elements I put in, so there will be customization available. As for the stairs, based on film images, there are 6 stairs before you reach the flat flooring of the room behind Jabba; 4 steps are up to the same height as the top of Jabba's throne slab, which is how i'm doing my design, then 2 more steps lead from that to the next level; the 4th step from the ground is very deep before you get to the next 2 steps, it's like a mini floor which is where 3-PO and Bib stand when addressing his largeness I believe.

Meta,
Is that shelf bending? I would hate to see something happen to that throne. You might want to check on that.

As far as the blueprint I think its pretty much right on. I looked at all kind of pictures and stuff when I planned to make the back section of the throne room and the more I looked it was pretty dead on.

I never got far enought to determine the number of stairs. The problem I ran into was the small area I wanted to build was going to be about 5'x5'. That was the end of that.

It isn't; that photo was taken with the lens zoomed back to a wide angle, so it's slightly distorted.

Thanks for checking. :D

how are u guys getting Jabba to hold the toastig glass in his right hand? mine has no thumb. are ya gluing it?

Good question.. I can't seem to get it either. :banghead

Maybe there are "open hand" and "closed hand" variants. :)

It's all a matter of personal choice, but I'm taking my DVD screen grabs now, that's right photoshop images are coming... :), and I'm looking at the Sail Barge scene right now, Jabba actually held the cup in his left hand like the SSC figure can do, if you look close enough at the film, and this shows the kinda Jabba nut I am, he has it in his left when he's alone, then as he pulls Leia to him and has her pressed against him you see it in what looks like his right hand but if you look at the shape of his head and his nostrils, this is actually another case of Star Wars film flop with the image reversed, so technically, it was in his left hand for this scene and for whatever reason, Lucas rotated the image in editing, or someone goofed.

Here are some images to prove my point, with the subtitles you can tell which is original and which is corrected without my pointing it out.

You can see once I tweak the image that the untouched film still looks off.
