how are u guys getting Jabba to hold the toastig glass in his right hand? mine has no thumb. are ya gluing it?

There was a good reason to save all those tiny clear rubberbands that held the Hasbro figures in their plastic prisons....:D

Badmoon....nothing too fancy with the light set-up...a couple of table lamps with dimmers, a gooseneck lamp for "aiming" light and a small flourescent for that "death pallor" accent (you know...like the shoppers at WM have as they progress zombie-like down the aisle...)

Enjoying the new pics, everyone....keep 'em coming!

Maulfans right about the Jabba 'flip flop' The easy way to tell with Jabba is to look at his nostrils.

oh and by the way... that group photo? Simply astounding. It's like a cover of Vanity Fair or something when they do Star Wars shoots. Love it!! :bow

You know, for the casual viewer, I'm sure the Jabba flop is imperceptable, but for me, when I first go into art, which was a preteen kid with markers and colored pencils, I drew many many Star Wars drawings, and one of my ways of testing my skills as they developed was to redraw things, and one of my skills that grew was the ability to hone in on the most minute details that make distinctions between people and things, and I came to notice that Jabba's ROTJ nostrils look like someone broke his nose so the bridge between them leans towards the his right side and makes the left nostril look more elevated, that and it seems like in every case, if one of Jabba's eyes was more squinted than the other, it was the right more squinty and the left a little more open, just like SSC sculpted. They really nailed him, even the texture between his lips, they sculpted it very film accurrate, lots of time and love went into this piece and I thank them for doing it.

Jedi bear thanks for the tips. As you can see I either get it A to dark or B to light. Not sure how to get the in between if that makes sense.

great pics guys!
i was wondering...anyone up for taxidermy eyes?
as in like a custom?

Yikes, that'd be really scary to me. Just the fact that I'm going to touch his eyes up witha little more detail and ball-joint his arms is sending waves of fear through me....

I made the 200 mile trip to IKEA today to pick up some Detolf and while I there I found this table for Jabba. I have a case for him on the way so he will look ultra sweet once the case comes in. Anyway heres some picks on the table. Also the box he came in goes perfectly underneath to make for a cool display option. Since I like to show off the boxes too.

You all dont think that Jabba puts this table over its weight limit do you.

Havin' more fun with the hutt....

"Ho, ho, ho....your mind tricks won't work on me, jedi..."

I'm glad you like them....I use acrylics, pastels, charcoals....whatever medium I have lying around. I do something like glazing to the flats...I like the variety and texture it gives me for creating backgrounds for my photos...like the great sculpts these figures feature, they can change depending on the light...

Nice table Jason! I really like it for Jabba... seems to be about the perfect size. I wouldn't think you will be topping out the weight, but did they give you a maximum amount on the packaging?

I love this figure, and as if I didn't love it since the day I first saw it online at SDCC, now that I have it in person and can photograph it, I'm loving it more, and now that I've done my first photoshop image and seen how perfectly he fits in, I feel more blown away than ever about how well SSC nailed his look, thank you all again.
