Getting back into the spirit of the thread:

Dang, I leave for a while to watch the Daytona 500 and this whole thread gets into a big pissing match... darn I missed it all.

MaulFan--

First, good to see you're still willing to post the pics. :)

Second, have you considered throwing in some fog/mist effects to better blend Jabba into the scene? After all, the throne room is a relatively smoky environment. I think it would help. Nothing too dramatic. Just a little for atmosphere.

I plan to do that in the shots where it was present in the view of him, there didn't seem to be too much smoke showing until the musical number and they got the BBQ pit fired up, but I'm trying to stay with what the still looks like as best I can so I won't add smoke until it's there in the shot.

Here's the actual still I uesd:

And looking at images like this, ball jointed shoulders may have given a little better movement, but with the real Jabba he was hollow rubber so his arms bend all over the place in ways no sturdy collectible could.

I'm surprised none of those posts were by Josh!

MaulFan, great pics as usual. So far my favorite is the group shot. Very nice.

Thanks Batty, Jabba film stills aren't as exciting as Jedi duels and all, but these are for my video project which will make them cooler, just figured I'd share them with people along the way.

Not that most people don't think it already, but seeing him thrown into film moments and lighting and seeing him match so well, it's just a nice way to highlight the great work Sideshow's team did, they really nailed him, well worth the 24 years it took to get from '83 Kenner Jabba to this.

Glad to see the bad feelings seem to have subsided and we're back on track with great images.

I like what you've done here MF, looks real nice. And like you said really shows the quality of Sideshows work!

Agreed, agreed, and agreed!!!

MaulFan, thanks for posting the source image. Looks like you matched the atmosphere perfectly. It's funny though...I always remember the palace as smoky regardless of the scene. Strange how memory works, eh? :)

i can't leave you boys alone for two hours can i  lmao

I think maybe everybody could have been a bit more diplomatic in their responses over the last few pages.... but for the record (not like what I say counts) being an artist... I'm kind of with MaulFan on this one. If I'd spent time doing something I'd probably get a bit picky if someone else changed it and reposted it

.....maybe it's just an artist thing :lol

but either way..... i'm glad we've all gotten back to what's important in this thread........ THE PICTURES :D

Happy everything is ok now!

Photoshopping is much easier when the character is HUGE, lol, not like others where they don't always cover up the background image well, Jabba pretty much covers up the film still, not to much clean up in the background with him, so I can crank these out faster, but still with good results, at least I think he's fitting into the scenes nicely anway.

I want to apologize to MaulFan and the rest of the board. I stuck my nose into, and helped agitate, a situation that had nothing to do with me. Hope there's no hard feelings. :peace

Here's the last word on that mess earlier in the thread....

I apoligize for stepping on MaulFan's toes... I meant no harm...won't happen again.

Enjoy the images folks.....it's been fun.

Looks like I missed a good fight here while I was on Mustafar watching those two amateurs trying to impress me with their lightsaber skills! Na! It was warm there... Far to warm for copyrights, I guess... !
