Problem is no in hollywood gives a ____ about how many tickets are sold. They just want to know how much money it has made.

All bout the DOLLAS.

I stack paper to the ceiling.

n00bs.

OMG 202,044,600 vs 75,980,500 is clearly no contest. Thanks for the link, this put things into perspective.
Yeah, it annoys me when people do this, but that's they way of the world. Hype trumps reality when it comes to promoting something. Recently U.S. News and World Report ranked colleges in the U.S. It developed this tier system, where half of the colleges examined were placed in the "first" tier. LSU just barely made the cut, then plastered all over their website for weeks--"LSU ONCE AGAIN IS LISTED IN THE TOP TIER OF UNIVERSITIES ACCORDING TO US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT. CONGRATS, LSU!!"

Made me sick.

(Best Picture, breaking records worldwide, high critical acclaim) you don't think any of it can be attributed to people just thinking it is a quality film?

Hasn't stopped people from bashing Titanic for 12 years.:lol:lol:lol

Had nothing to do with being the most hyped movie of the year right?

And you know you dont have to LIKE the characters to enjoy the movie right? Some movies make you hate the character. But they also have a great story to go with it.

You really take things way to seriously on the internet. I did too. Just pretend everything everyone says is a joke.

No i dont and it wasnt the most overhyped movie of the year i recall, new moon and Tf2 having more hype, Honestly i saw the trailer and i thought this movie would suck same with the dark knight, the trailer didnt impress me but the the movies allways do.

Does anywhere just track ticket sales? By that I mean how many tickets have been purchased. ____ if I was able to work in the 80's and made what I am now I would be driving a BMW top model instead of a Honda. :lol I think it would be fair to just count the tickets sold to put these arguments to rest.

Yes. Someone's not reading the thread before posting. :)

Avatar is performing respectably in ticket sales, but would have to more than double its current run to even cause the leaders to break into a sweat. It's a hit movie, but the nominal box office is down to inflation and the 3D surcharge.
