Here's how the shield is looking. It's a little slim and not fattish because I preferred it that way...plus my figure is about 10 inches tall and not 12. I guess I'll have to bake it one more time to add the other fluff. Wow this took bloody forever.

I'm not really familiar with the game or character, but your work is looking good. NICE detailing on that shield.

Nothing significant to report except that I am still massaging the fluff on the shield, trying to get them to be mirror images of each other. Once that's done, I'll cut down the relief.

Here is the shield next to a 12 inch figure for sizing purposes:

By the time you get done with this shield, the POTA glyphs will be a breeze for you. Look at all the experience you've gained. :angelsmil

BTW - Is that yours, or did someone commission you?

It's my own project to prove to myself that I have follow through, that I can start something and actually complete it. So every night, no matter what I'm going to try to do something until he's done. :maul

I am running out of ideas for the brown undergarment for this figure and I'm threatening now to knit him one. I have lace weight alpaca yarn that would be perfect for him.

Jessica - I think you mentioned that you couldn't afford to buy this shield. Just curious, what was the shield selling for that you had to actually make one for yourself? :angelsmil

It was $57 after s/h... I'm NOT going to buy something for my dolly that costs more than a pair of shoes I own. Ok. I lied. I have several tall shafted leather boots that were about $125, but I'm a boot freak.

AND I am a crafter, not a collector. I prefer making stuff rather than just buying.

Zoiks---this is all I could muster for the evening. I've massaged the filligree on top and I've shaved down the relief a lot. The squiggly parts on bottom of shield is a very rough draft. I'm too tired to plug on. I'll see how I feel about the shield tomorrow, with fresh eyes before I cure the clay.

Here is the final version of the front of the shield. It still needs to cure, but I'm happy with how it looks.

That is simply amazing Jessica, BRAVO!

Now, will you be so kind as to send it to me for free? ;) :p

Seriously though - you should cast it up, I'm sure a fair few people would buy it

Thanks, Mollins. I would be honored if somebody wanted to buy a cast. Anyhoo...I want the back to look like this. And whoa...I have to sculpt that arm thingy he's wearing on his left hand.

Which sword are you going to be sculpting for your link Jessica?

I hope it's this one:

The one you posted looks better. That's the one I'm going to sculpt. And of course the scabbard.
