Some of you guys get really mad at movies making money. it was a fun movie about dinosaurs which we havent seen in awhile based on a nostalgic franchise. Damn next summer just dont go to the movies anymore, every yr when a big hit movies makes alot of money everyone is here gets upset and bashes it. Star wars no doubt will get alot of hate

Nope, I don't hate this movie because it made a lot of money, I "hate" it cause it's bad, it's dumb and it gets a pass cause supposedly it's fun, incidentally it's disappointing that such a ****** movie makes this much money, but it's not really surprising and that's not why I hate it.

Please don't make it sound like the sole reason this movie is hated is cause it made money, cause it isn't.

It's entertainment. If it entertains, it is good. At least to some people.

Yep. If the Jurassic World thread gets this much hate then the Star Wars movie threads are going to be chaos once the movies are out. I imagine for every person that likes TFA there will be nine people in the 'it's cool to hate anything non-OT' camp telling them that they can't like it.

I didn't hate Jurassic World like some people in this thread do. Like I said before, it was alright and enjoyable. We had a good time seeing it and it was on par with the other Jurassic sequels.


Force Awakens though, I already have a seething hatred for it and it's not even fall yet! I don't believe that 90s tag line that "Star Wars is forever". I think the Disney acquisition is the worst thing to happen to it in decades.

The anthology announcements make my blood boil though. Seems tasteless. They're milking and whoring out an already used up cow whose utters have been mutilated from decades of overuse. The original trilogy films were every three years then there was a nice, long, 16 year gap until the prequel films came out . . . every three years. 6 movies in the span of 5 years if they stick to their plan, is abusing it imo.

What else did you expect from it? This day in age mindless actionfest make the big bucks,Jw was going to be that from the start. I knew this walking in that i wasnt getting jp1 but essentially an action flick with the mother****ing t.rex.

So you're saying the movie is bad but it's ok because you expected it to be?

I expected it to be mediocre, but it didn't even meet my already low expectations I knew I wasn't getting JP1 but I at least expected good plot and characters, ridiculous as they could've been, not a dumb script that lead to dumb action that made me feel bad, is that too much of me to ask for that? Am I off base for calling this movie bad regardless of my expectations?

I mean there are people here that are actually saying it's ok this movie is a turd because it's an "entertaining" and "fun" turd. smh.

I see your point but from Disney's point of view they'll make billions at the box office, sell millions of toys and today's generation of new Star Wars fans will most likely love the new movies well into the future. The film industry isn't about just making a good movie anymore unless it's the twenty or so movies that are made just to try and win an oscar and inflate egos.

Not needlessly. None of it has looked good to me from the trailers and promos. I liked bits of that BTS reel thing they showed at SDCC, but not much else.

How does this movie keep making so much money? The plot was basic and predictable, the sub plots were laughable and the dinosaurs were nothing special.
