I still haven't seen this, I'm excitedly nervous as I've avoided everything about it the last week or two.

Hopefully it's decent, gonna try and catch it tonight.

It's not a movie spoiler so much as an implied spoiler for what the reaction to the film has been - I spoilered it in case you've somehow managed to avoid all that aswell.

:lol I know the general reaction has been negative. That's some A class **** posting there my friend.

even read it in his voice :lol :lol

Like it or not there is no denying WB will do something and change their DCEU plans from this point on...the next few months will be very interesting to see what they announce because even before JL was released their movies kept changing and rumors were all you had- many were talked about but officially I saw no back up to that talk...

If they were smart and had the balls, they would use Flashpoint and reboot the whole thing. Best part would be that they don't even need to recast, if they didn't want to. They can easily add changes to the characters and how they are portrayed by the actors. At the end of the movie, Barry would come back to a complete new DC cinematic universe.

i see that but doubt they have that much insight:lol

What WB needs is a couple GREAT filmmakers with visions that they are allowed to carry through on...I do think Snyder is gone anyhow and they DO need a Feige-like guide who can set things up and produce a product(yes product) that will appeal to broad audiences and get critical acclaim.

I don't know what movie crows saw but the one I saw was pretty bad, IIRC it even pissed me off of how bad it was, no real characters, the closest thing to a real character is Kong himself, no human is relatable, writing is pretty bad, as much as you'd expect from a movie made for the Chinese market where the plot is barebones but they still repeat it a few times so the non-English speaking audience doesn't forget, action looked cartoony, it makes Pacific Rim look like a masterpiece.

If the director is any good, I don't think this movie is at all representative of his work since it feels like a focus group movie, the cinematography has no discernible style of its own outside the NAM NAM NAM this is NAM, which calling cliché is an understatement.

If this is a director movie, then I am very worried about the MGS movie.

Sorry to be negative about it, I only comment on it cause it's tied to the MGS movie, I honestly hope it doesn't happen, at least not with that director.

It was a monster movie. A big giant monster movie. We got what the trailer promised, for me this was just like watching 7th voyage of Sinbad. That movie has no character development yet is considered a classic. This was WAY better than godzilla where we got 12 minutes of monster action in a 2 hour movie. You definitely got your character development in that long ass boring as hell " monster movie"
I will take kong 100 times over the boring godzilla any day
Besides john c reilly was the greatest thing about the movie.

Damn that’s true. Kong had way better fights. Sad cause I was expecting a 54 remake of g14. But it sucks that kong had the better fights. Godzilla is the better monster but still

Ill admit some of the humans were a little one dimentional or just cannon fodder, not everyone gets developed,

But complaining about the one dimentional soldiers in kong is like complaining about the camp counselors in friday the 13th not being developed.....

The action scenes are some of the best monster action scenes i've seen in a monster movie

Im a really big fan of monster movies and this movie was such a great monster movie that i really wished i could find a theater that was playing it. It pains me to know i missed the final battle in theaters. Kong was the boss in this, he really was king. The way he kills the big skull crawler was pure carnage.
Specially when Brie is on his hand and the fist goes inside the lizards mouth.... what a brutal kill.
Who cares if the soldiers were not developed, seriously did u guys want another boring ass godzilla?

I think the main complaints was that Kong wasn't properly developed not the soldiers lol

This is like the 30th kong movie...... omg wtf,
Thats like complaining that they didnt show uncle bens death in spiderman homecoming......
Kong lives in an island, kong protects the natives from the creepy crawlies..... what else did people expect? Did we need to see kong's birth and upbringing? Kong the "teenage years"? :lol :lol

Being a monster movie excuses it from being bad? I'm not talking character development, I'm talking characters, period, any sort of entertaining dynamic, the movie has none.

John C Reily fell flat 90% of the time, the only good bits of him were the ones at the end, as far as his comedy goes, nada, and he was the stand up, don't get me started on Tom Hiddleston :lol The movie has what? 10 minutes of action? Is it worth sitting the rest of it when it's not even remotely interesting or at least good looking? The first Transformers is a *much* better movie than this all around.

As far as Godzilla goes, I don't know, it may have 3 minutes of action but the last fight against the MOTU is much better than any action in this one.

Your best bet is to just watch the action bits on YT, for both of them.

Now Pacific Rim I would totally watch again.

inb4 Riddick's Pacific Rim Job joke.
