Think about it, it's that bad that they can't believe YOU are not baiting :lol

:rotfl:rotfl

I don't think Kong is that bad, but it's just....boring. It's not good but it's not bad enough to be entertaining either, like JL or B&R. It's a forgettable movie, so seeing someone saying that they LOVE it, sounds like total bait, and I'll never buy it.

Being a monster movie excuses it from being bad? I'm not talking character development, I'm talking characters, period, any sort of entertaining dynamic, the movie has none.

John C Reily fell flat 90% of the time, the only good bits of him were the ones at the end, as far as his comedy goes, nada, and he was the stand up, don't get me started on Tom Hiddleston :lol The movie has what? 10 minutes of action? Is it worth sitting the rest of it when it's not even remotely interesting or at least good looking? The first Transformers is a *much* better movie than this all around.

As far as Godzilla goes, I don't know, it may have 3 minutes of action but the last fight against the MOTU is much better than any action in this one.

Your best bet is to just watch the action bits on YT, for both of them.

Now Pacific Rim I would totally watch again.

inb4 Riddick's Pacific Rim Job joke.

Ot is not that excuses it from being bad, it is that you were focusing on the wrong thing.
Did you hate Anaconda this much?or did u hate the lost world this much?
This was an exploration movie. The focus was on the island and on the things they find. You are literally hating an entire genre. Even the original black and white king kong had crappy human characters.

You can even argue that if it wasnt because predator had amazing charismatic actors and an amazing soundtrack you would probably hate it as much.
Take out arnold and ventura and the other guys and add regular mediocre actors and you would literally be complaining about the same thing.

Is predator a good movie because of Arnold? Would predator suck if u replace him with someone as bland as Tom Hiddleston or samuel jackson?

I don't take the it's a [low brow popcorn genre] movie excuse seriously, sure, it's supposed to have dumb, bombastic and ridiculous action parts, but, what are we supposed to watch in-between these parts? The stuff between the dumb action is what enhances or deflates the dumb action.

As for crows baiting, he doesn't even bait anymore, he's been putting so much effort into his baiting that he ends up having real conversations, sometimes without even getting a raise out of his opponent :lol he has come full circle.

It was much much much better than godzilla and it has been a long time since we have had big monster movies in general.
Last time i can think of is the clash of the titans remake.

Why do u think i made that thread 5 years ago. Monster movies are rare. This was an incredible monster feature.

They thought i was trolling on my love for spiderman homecoming as well.... it is just the nature of this thread.

It's not the wrong thing when it's the only thing on screen, I may not find the action that great but that's not what makes me dislike the movie

I don't remember watching Anaconda, but I didn't hate the lost world because even those secondary characters are better than these. The only time Goldblum alone *almost* didn't carry me through a movie was Ragnarok.

Is it really exploration when we've seen it already? And, if we've seen it, shouldn't at least the human characters carry it well enough? I'm not asking for deep and complex backstories, some interesting dialogue or performances will do, at least some good visuals.

The Peter Jackson movie had much better exploration and characters imo, and not even that deep or elaborate.

Yes I would. Wouldn't you? Do you realize you're agreeing with me here m8? :lol

Errr, yes?

Although, Predator does not hinge only on that like Kong does, say you don't have Arnold, if you had another serviceable actor, the movie is still well written and masterfully directed enough to stand on its own. Unlike Kong.

I think it's because you have become meme, the destroyer of threads.

Don't ever change tho.

The predator thing,
My point was not to agree with you but i was thinking more about how even without arnold you still have an amazing creature design in the yauta creature and a great suspenseful exploration movie regardless of how iconic arnold was.
The plot, the creature design and the suspense were also just as good. A lot of beloved iconic horror movies follow the kong/ predator structure,

Im not saying kong didnt have problems or that some of the humans were crappy. But as a monster lover i had such a great time seeing kong bringing on the pain

But Predator still has exquisite direction, great dialogue, eargasmic music, and a great script. Kong?

Many movies may share its mechanics and structure, but not many have that kind of talent behind them. I tell you brah, you shoot high by comparing it with Predator.

Well, I'm a monster lover, not in the sense of just seeing the monsters themselves, I need human characters proxies to get immerse through them, I need that vicarious experience when it comes to Monster movies, unless there was an experimental monster story of some sort, but there aren't many of those around.

As for designs and action, I can appreciate those isolated as much as the next guy, but when you put 10 minutes of that in a 2 hour movie? Well I get a bit picky.

What do you think of Cloverfield?

I'm not. I won't fall for it.

If you really like Kong, well good for you, Crows. I like Super Mario bros and The Flintstones, so anything is possible.

I actually do enjoy those two a lotbut it is more of a nostalgia thing, a childhood thing. Just like howard the duck which i own.
I would watch all 3 with my cousins and to us they were just regular movies, as a kid i never thought bad things about them, they were just peliculas americanas, gringo movies,

I had a big crush on the women on all three movies, specially the rocker girl in howard the duck. I still do actually. Thats another reason i like those 3 movies a lot.
