After watching this again, it's just sad that the suits at WB could not just let Zack finish his "trilogy". If they want to blame anyone for the "disappointing" returns on this movie, they ony have to look at themselves and the wounds they inflicted on it.

These are "legacy" characters - they aren't going anywhere-they'll always endure in one medium or another. If the suits were so disappointed in the way Snyder developed and presented Superman, they could always "reboot" and re-cast after this trilogy was complete. No one is going to mistake the Nolan Batman movies for the Snyder ones or the Burton ones....and look at the large catalog of movies in various styles that appeal to different audiences...it's "win" for them.

I think JL would have fared better at the BO and as a movie with a finished version from Zack - the remaining scenes in this version that are still his are the best parts of the movie. The worst parts are the forced humor, the weird "family" scenes, all of the Superman scenes and the poorly executed finale that was obviously Whedon.

I really hope that WB lets a true Snyder cut of this get released. Put it back to the cut from when he left the film and just finish the effects. I'm sure many fans (like myself) who thought the extended cut of BvS was better would really enjoy and appreciate it. And they'll make more money!

Probably won't ever happen though.

So it seems that up until quite late in the game Steppenwolf had a design a lot more similar to what we saw in the ending of BvS ultimate edition. Everything else about the amazons scene is the same except for how he looks. I guess this is why his CG was so unfinished on the newer design.

I’m also starting to buy into the theory that WB just didn’t care and wanted to push it out whatever state it was in at a certain point. It also explains elfmans lines about how no one ever let him write the score without any interference whatsoever before, or didn’t notice how crappy (non-existent) it was. They literally didn’t care

Snyder, Whedon, it doesn't matter to me. You can't polish a turd.

Not true.

Snyder's version had Cathy Heaven playing Lois Lane, Nicolette Shea playing Wonder Woman and Lisa Ann playing Martha Kent. All their scenes were shot together in closed sets.
