Re: Keaton Batman

No, I wouldn't. Just don't care for that character in the grand scheme of things. There are other characters I might be more interested in; Grissom, Axis Jack Napier, an Alfred. And yes, I DO consider myself an 89 Batman fan. Got a problem with that? :lol

Btw, Every 89 Batman fan also knows this:

"Never rub another man's rhubarb." :lol

Whoa! Forget I asked. Sorry Mr. pjam. Won't happen again Mr. pjam.:lol

I'll take every other figure you just mentioned AND Bob. I want them all.:D

No worries Coco. :D I'm just a little aggravated, that's all. You have no idea how much crap goes along with putting together a simple list to help out fellow members with a group rate order. Over 10 hours of my time, over 40 emails, updates, PMs from others (not on list) with their own issues, all this when I'm busy as hell and then dealing with the occasional sniping that goes on on top of it.

I don't think I'll do it again.

You guys on the list enjoy. Looking forward to seeing the first pics of this fig when they roll in.

Re: Keaton Batman

Well Paul, I certainly appreciate your efforts, and apologize if I've put too much on you; I certainly wasn't looking to, but very enthusiastic about all this and turning to you was all I knew to do in some matters. Your efforts are much appreciated though.

Re: Keaton Batman

Yeah, definitely prefer the 89 in pretty much all aspects. Returns is decent, and Devito is excellent as the Penguin. But overall its just not as good.

I guess I'm one of the rare people that actually likes Returns better. Ive been a fan of the comics for over 35 years so the whole round pumpkin headed cowl and the bat emblems tail having extra points really bothered me, not to even mention the whole Joker killing Bruce's parents thing.

Returns was darker and had more of a comic feel to it for me, not to mention Pfieffer's Catwoman. :naughty

I guess I'm really holding out for a film to actually have some version of the black and dark grey Batsuit.

You've been a great asset to the group, Sean. Your efforts are appreciated and I can't wait to see your images. And thanks again for the kind posts you've made along the way. Rock on Bro.

Re: Keaton Batman

Yes. Thanks for all the effort you've put into this Paul. It is much appreciated.
And I of course took no offense to anything you said and I definitely didn't mean any by what I said. All in good fun. Just the way this forum should be.

Keaton Batman Rocks!!!!

Re: Keaton Batman

I hope to have mine from Shawn within a week or so, went with the newer cape. Will definitely provide a review when it arrives.

Re: Keaton Batman

I'm still waiting to hear back from Shawn about the cape situation, I'll go with the last one as well, just want to know what I should tell him since what we assume on this end may not be how he knows the materials on his end.

Well, we all wanted pleather capes so Shawn went to great lengths to please us with finding new material for the capes and is an accuracy nut just as we are. I am very pleased with how the newer cape drapes and looks in general.

I would simply address any concerns you may have when placing your order. Just ask him. Shawn has been doing these for years and is a Pro as you all know. I should have mine reasonably soon so the guys further down the list will have the benefit of feedback and reviews from others who received theirs with newer capes.

Re: Keaton Batman

I'll certainly add my thanks to the choir. Thanks heaps Pjam. I knew something that looked and sounded simple, would be a PitA. That's PitA, not P!tu. Though, as is the case, these can be interchangeable. :lol

Thanks creech et al. You did warn me this might be a headache. No good deed goes unpunished I guess. :lol I've also been running a large Freaks garage kit project for months now and it's about to get started very soon. What I get for being a Libra. :lol

So, let's move on now. Shawn has info for all 14 who responded. You guys know who you are and have Shawn's email address so deal directly with him. Remember we were first presented with the cloth cape. Shawn looked for new material and found new cape material which I love. I do not know if the thinner vinyl material is available or not. I recall he said he no longer had the "pebbled" vinyl material so keep that in mind.

He may have other options for you and he may not, I don't know so ask before placing your order. In the meantime I will try to answer any questions you may have about the new cape when my figure arrives. Should be by this time next week hopefully.

My part is now complete. I am just a collector now, looking forward to getting my hands on this, the best 1.6 Keaton figure out there and the best deal for it thanks to Shawn.

Oh, and Special props to my best Freaks Buddy Wor-Gar who provided invaluable advice and support to me. You Rock Big time WG!

Anyone else who wants to order one from Shawn at the Special Freaks group rate can contact him @ [email protected]

Re: Keaton Batman

UPDATE from Shawn.

You don't have to worry about getting the wrong cape material. They will all be made with the thin lightly textured vinyl. Most of the photos I sent to Paul were test shots and do not reflect various options that are available. The first stuff had a nice texture, but was far too thick to use. The texture on that stuff was VERY pronounced, too. The stuff I settled on is really thin and lightly textured. It has the right texture, but it's not visually overbearing. I've enclosed a photo to be sure we're on the same page.

So, those placing orders, take note, there is no option on the cape. We were shown the test shots along the way to the ideal cape material, which Shawn has finally found, and all of these figures will be made with the material as seen below.

And Batmania '89 Returns, so to speak. This Cape is better than the pebbled texture cape, more film accurate, Kudos to Shawn for hunting it down.

Next new Episode, in hand Keaton Batman Pictures!

Re: Keaton Batman

I can't wait either, because as soon as yours are done, on to batch number 2 :)

As for the cape, ya Shawn's sharp at fabric scouting, and like he said in the email he sent around, the texture is present but less defined in the final production material than the first textured material he found, and it lays on the figure instead of whatever the first stuff did. I really question if a better Batman from this film could exist, and I don't even have it in hand yet. Just curious, does anyone know if he has accessories like the batgun or any of those gadgets? No loss if it doesn't, but always cool to get more.

Re: Keaton Batman

Those thighs look pretty big. Does anyone know what base body he uses? Hope one of the early guys posts up some nice detailed shots of every part of the figure.
