Re: Keaton Batman

Those thighs look pretty big. Does anyone know what base body he uses? Hope one of the early guys posts up some nice detailed shots of every part of the figure.

If you look in the upper right hand corner of this pic you can see a nude body with codpiece which may be the same. I like it a lot after seeing those Rojas legs. :lol

This guy looks bad ass.

Going by this image, the legs don't look fat to me, the whole figure looks short, which is good cuz Keaton isn't a tall guy, I think the scale is all perfect, I can't wait for Shawn to get started on batch 2.

Re: Keaton Batman

I haven't been this excited to receive a Custom fig in a while. It usually takes me a lot longer to put one of my customs together, so knowing it's coming soon with this body and cape is psyching me up... and knowing the Joker isn't far behind is just too cool.

Re: Keaton Batman

I don't even care that it's custom, I've just wanted a 1/6 Keaton Batman since I learned of the Sovereign Batman quite a while ago, and it seemed like he'd be impossible to find or an extremely daunting task to assemble on my own, based on what Les shared about his custom Keaton Batman, so now I get to own a sought after figure. Of ever Batsuit in a realistic portrayal of the character, including Adam West, I've always liked this suit best of all, and the curves to the cowl are part of that, which is something I dislike about them dropping in Returns. The Keaton mouth area just captures his look perfectly, I keep imagining the film moments I want to replicate with this figure every time I see it.

Re: Keaton Batman

"How much do you weigh?"

If I can do that lean back pose, you will see it first here.

Re: Keaton Batman

I'm got a whole gammit in mind. He had quite a few cool poses while fighting off Joker's goons in the top of the church, I'll have some figure in my collection stand in for a nice "What are you?" "I'm Batman" image, I may splurge and get a Joker also (when do the V2s come out for him?) so there's ones to do there. I'll definitely be recreating the end shot of the film with him staring out at the Bat Signal. So many visual moments would look great. I have to say, as I think about it discussing the film in here, Burton really did a great job with camera shots to develop the characters in the film, great lighting, great looks captured, it's really just a nicely, albeit stylistic, cut comic-based film.

Don't forget the ultra cool downlighting used to shade the cowl eyes in the cave with Vick.

That, and the reveal lighting when he kicks Vickie out of the cave "I gotta go to work." Shadows....shadows....spotlight....BATMAN!!! I think part of the appeal of Batman over Returns and the other sequels, is that, not as much as Begins, there's a darkness to Bruce and a purpose to Batman, and the story, acting, and filming all worked well to draw you into the character's inner demons. Forever touched a bit upon what lies in Bruce Wayne, but between Kilmer and Kidman's acting and everything else, it just didn't have the attraction that Burton and Nolan captured in their films. I like Batman as a character with a sense of purpose, and not just a masked guy out stopping badguys with no internal, emotional context to it.

"If I don't do it, who will?"

Re: Keaton Batman

If I can I would love to throw in my 2 cents on this subject. I may get some heat for saying this, but while Begins was a great movie and Bale did a great job as Batman it was Keaton that IMO immortalized Batman and gave us the best portrayal.
As you two guys have said a lot of elements came together to create a great Batman. Keaton's acting, lights, the suit, purpose, fighting squence. That last part is crucial for me. This Batman had the moves of who Batman was to me. The way he would appear out of no where, dish the punishment and then disappear just as he appeared creates a geek moment for me. While Begins has this, the Keaton films SHOWS this a lot better. Batman fights off Joker's goons or even the Red Circus Gang and you see him duck, kick use his infentive gadgets to stop them. That is Batman.
And in fact, you can tell that the way Keaton moved as Batman influenced the way Batman would move in the Animated serises that followed in the 90s. What a legacy to leave.

Re: Keaton Batman

Same here. My favorite. The defining moment of Keaton's Batman/Wayne character for me was when he faced the Joker in Vicks apartment.
"You wanna get nuts? Come on, lets's get nuts".:D To me it showed a great blend of who Bruce and the Batman were. A slightly psychotic side to Wayne showed up that I always thought would be present in a guy who dressed like a giant bat to fight crime.

Batman was and always will be the definitive comic book movie to me.

Re: Keaton Batman

No complaints from me, Keaton is my favorite bats... hands down!

You mean, THIS guy! :lol Color corrected some of Shawn's pics so you can see him a bit better to tide us over till Group 1 gets their figs.

Where did he get that Outfit?

Re: Keaton Batman

Thanks, they are fine to tide us over, yes. Can't wait for your stuff MF, now THAT will be worth the wait.

I hope so, wait's killing me lol. I'm on a big Batman phase now. I started watching this one last night but fell asleep while "daddy's gotta make a little art darling..." so I'll conclude it tonight, and if there's enough time, watch Returns and maybe Begins. Does anyone here have the 2-disc set of 89 Batman, I'm wondering how good the bonus materials are or aren't.
