wow! welcome uncannyx. and what a first post!! i've been looking for good in hand pics of these legendary figs for ages. i've always wanted the returns version. there was one on ebay a loooong time ago but i couldn't win it. they look great! shawn (sovereignstudios) and jon (customworkz) do some pretty amazing returns figs too - i'll get one one of these days.

So is that an actual removable cowl??? WOW! Althought the likeness could be better.

What does HW stand for? And when were these made??

Great post UncannyX and welcome!

Thanks intothevoid! HW stands for Henry Wayne, its his sculpt and he commissioned someone to produce the parts professionally. His goal was to scale down the actual prop costume and make it wearable for a 12" figure the same way as it is worn in full scale. He went for the accurate look rather than articulation as can be seen on how the armor was sculpted and he used a smooth leather material undersuit with thick rubber for the cowl/armor (similar to the actual costume) that limited movement at 6th scale. Even Keaton himself was restricted in movement because of the costume design. The cowl is hard to put on and off, because of the tight fit, powder is needed to make it slide easier. The face is like an animated Keaton look but it could be the paint. By the way, the head is actually bald, a sculpted hair is placed on when the cowl is off. The cowl and armor sculpt is really amazing and is nice to display even without the Keaton head. I think this was made in 2005, I'm not sure though. Both versions did not reach 80 units I believe. Les Walker was given one by Henry as a gift. The figures look tall because the boots are tight at the calves even when softened by hair dryer, I need to reduce the calves of the body to make it fit better. :) Now if there's only a 6th scale '89 batmobile...the largest I could find is at 8th scale... :(

If anyone is interested I'm going to be selling my original 89 Keaton Batman I got from Shawn back when he first started making these and selling them on ebay years ago. It's different from the versions that were being offered on here. I'm looking for what I paid for it back then which is $220. Let me know if your interested before I start a thread in the sale section if you want first shot at it. I think pictures were back around pg.#143.

Hello old thread. I've missed you.

My newest Batman that I've added at your far left. He's my favorite so far and once I futz with the cape and repaint him I'll probably even sell off one or two of my other ones.
