Any idea how long of a wait that would be... more than 6 month, a year, past a year?

I know some have waited over a year before and I haven't heard of anybody getting his 20th anniversary edition lately either. There was a time when Shawn was cranking these out pretty quick but I think those days are over though.

So that's Sovereign's latest Batman, your new acquisition?

Not his latest rather one of his first. I got it from mwilbury. Shawn probably made it around 2005 I'm guessing. I really like the sculpt he started out with. Too bad the mold degraded over time.

Looks pretty good, but in some of the shots the mouth looks almost smiling. Of all his modern ones, I'm glad to have got his Freaks v2 figure, it's my favorite of all the ones he's offered here since this thread started.

Yeah, it's got the "Keaton smirk". I think that's why I like it the best.

He's almost got the look he had when Jack said "Nice outfit" to him at Axis Chemicals. I loved that scene.

So what's the new one on the left? What version? How'd you come by it, Coco?

That is one of Shawn's earliest Batman figures. I got it from mwilbury today. The gloves had completely fell apart so I swiped some off of a SS V2 Bats that I had.

All are Shawn's except the far right one on the stand. It's a Custom Workz Bats.

Ahhhh.... so you finally got your hands on one of the early ones. I thought it looked familiar. Good catch!

Yep. Finally. It almost didn't happen but Matt (mwilbury) took pity on me and let me snag him at a good price.

I figure the only thing that'll top him is a Hot Toys version now.

I got to say, I really love my early Sovereign Bats. I think the sculpt is much closer to the movie Keaton than the later more interpreted versions. And to think that Bats goes back to like early 2003. It was so radical at that time, considering it still holds up today.

I'm very happy that you have one now. :rock

Hello old thread. I've missed you.

My newest Batman that I've added at your far left. He's my favorite so far...

Dude, your collection boggles my mind. :google And Every time I see that Art museum joker I turn green with envy!!!

...and once I futz with the cape and repaint him I'll probably even sell off one or two of my other ones.

Let me know when that day comes. :monkey1

I love my custom from Shawn, but I would welcome a Hot Toys version, mainly because of the hands and gear. Shawn's looks great, but there's no gun, it couldn't hold a gun if you made one because of the fists, and there's no Batarang, a Hot Toys Keaton Batman would be more an action figure Batman where Shawn's is very much a collectible figure. I'd be curious how HT would tackle the cape, since their previous Batmans have been cloth capes in the movies.

HT's cape would probably be the biggest improvement over Shawn's with the batarang and grapple gun being second. The capes on all of mine are awful.

The best 89 Bats cape I've ever had came on an Alex Rojas' 12" Keaton Bats that I bought about 5 years ago. It was soft enough to hang pretty well but it had a cloth backer on the inside. That was the only worthwhile thing on that whole figure.

It's a tricky cape that's for sure, have to have just the right ammount of material to get it to lay right, right cut, soft enough material to be shaped a bit. I got my Sovereign cape to look good from the front, but if you saw the back it has some ugly folds in it to make the front look good. Capes seem tricky overall though, it's rare to find a cape that really works on a figure.
