i've been bugging shawn for ages about upgrades to the returns fig - he's probably getting pretty fed up me by now. i remember him saying no plans in the immediate future but eventually. he has so many cool projects going right now it might take a while.

The suit sculpt of the 20th Anniversary figure is amazing. However, I find both headsculpts to be off. If they were more like the Billikin kit's or the Triple X/ This Island Earth Batman/ Bruce Wayne custom models, I would buy probably the figure.
However, I always loved your Returns figure and I can't wait for an update on that figure's suit sculpt. As long as the likeness stays unchanged, I will definitely buy it.

I'll certainly be happy with the current version of the Returns figure, as it is absolutely beautiful. I just wanted to see if both Batmen were getting upgrades.
Whatever, it sound like I'll get this fig in record time as Shawn is trying to fulfill all outstanding orders. I just hope this fig doesn't come during Christmas while I'm away!

i'm the same - i think the pattern on the armour is slightly wrong - other than that it's absolutely amazing. i'm particularly fond of the sculpt he has on that one. i'll wait to see what he comes up with. but due to his current work plan of fulfilling all previus orders before sculpting anything new (which s quite commendable), it might be a while. but i'm willing to wait. go shawn!

Keaton is a tough subject to sculpt. I've never see a Keaton sculpt I liked 100%, including Billiken's. It has those fat, misshapen lips, like Rocky after 15 rounds

Just a few questions... Are you still doing the urethane for the armor or have you gone back to the rubber? Is his movement still as impressive as it was with the spandex suit?
Either way it looks amazing Shawn. I look to picking this up eventually and adding it to my Batman shelf. One can never have enough Batman figures.

i think the batman i got from you a few months back has an amazing sculpt - from a distance it looks fantastic - just like keaton. from a little closer, his chin looks a little big, but it's still one of the best keaton sculpts i've seen. i think the new one (or at least the part seen under the cowl) is even better and looks more natural. i have to say though, your returns version is actually the best keaton sculpt out there. looks great. people tend to over emphasize the lips like you said, but both of yours have it right.
Holy Shiet! Oh happy day!!! That is one bad arse figure! I plan on doing just as you suggested Shawn and have my Batman figs all displayed together from the movies! I think you did an awesome job on this and I can't wait to add him into my collection.

shawn, just a thought - any chance you can mod existing figures with the new head sculpt for a price? i really like the look of the new head under the cowl - he seems to have that really characteristic keaton grimace. i would love that!

Looking at the pics, I think I painted it weird. Sometimes, with a new sculpt, it takes a few attempts to get a feel for how it should be painted to best represent it. The sculpt isn't the problem, I know that

Shawn, I think it's the photo lighting playing a big part in the perception of your Keaton head, try capturing it in lighting that lets the white of his eyes show, I look at the pictures and not seeing that is definitely causing a weird look.

i think it looks great - the unpainted pic above shows just how good it is. i think maulfan might be right - could be lighting in the pics.

I just saw this post and my heart actually skip a beat... I do miss him a lot, but knowing he's gone to the best possible home, I happy about that at least.
I hope I'll be able to replace him one day!

Yeah, you packaged him just fine. I like that Freaks banner label you made too. That's pretty snazzy.He's got a good home, that's for sure. I really appreciate you selling him to me but I hope you can get him replaced really soon.
