As much as we get out of knowing the cinematic history as fans, I feel like Jackman and Stewart play their roles with such pathos that even a newcomer could be moved. I really think this will go down as a high-water mark for the CBM genre.

I agree with Clown Prince, the other movies had great action and didn't need gore. As much I enjoyed Logan, X2 still has the best Wolverine action in my opinion. Jackman pretty much showed off everything iconic about Wolverine in that mansion invasion that not even Logan had. Sniffing the soldiers out, and Calling the soldier bub right before he stabs him in the chest with spit flying out his mouth, silently and brutally taking soldiers out in the hallway, and running around like a wild animal chopping slicing them and their weapons in half.

And the scene is cleverly shot by Singer, showing us just enough to know how brutal it is but still tame enough for a PG13 rating.

Checkin' this one out tomorrow.
No DP teaser for my country, unfortunately.
Also no undubbed screenings, which is super odd and extremely disappointing.

I'm pretty sure you can watch it online right now. I believe it leaked.

I wasn't a fan of the Deadpool movie but I loved that DP teaser.

Logan action > X2 action

The DP teaser was fun but very out of place.

So Wolverine can't sell a movie now without a DP crutch?

I'll cut Fox some slack though because they allowed Mangold to create a masterpiece so if the trade off is that bills still need to be paid by shoving a comedic DP trailer before said masterpiece then so be it.

I thought the use of the Superman theme was very well handled.

But if DP just stopped existing today I would not lose any sleep.

Ok, I am about to start my XM franchise marathon, including Origins (sigh), curious how I will feel about them.

Don't do Origins Jye, enjoy your life :lol

:lol :lol :lol

As much as I want to agree with you I think when we formulate our emotions on any movie, especially on recurring set of characters, it comes from having experiened everything that series had to offer leading up to the current movie.

Believe it or not the lows of Origins (or Batman and Robin) makes one appreciate "more" (not just appreciate but appreciate more) your Batman Begins and Logan.

There are movies and then there are films.

Logan for me is a film.

I loved this movie so much that i'm ok going full Snobby SNIKT and giving it a snobby artificial bump up in classification lol.

Origins had some decent stuff in it, I love Sabertooth and thought Liev Schreiber and Jackman had good chemistry. But yeah, other than that, it's awful. Would have been nice to have had his Creed in this in some compacity, but eh what are you going to do.

I do think X-24 was a call back to the Schreiber Sabertooth with the hair and facial hair style. Or maybe I'm looking too far into it.

Logan makes Batman Begins look like a kiddie movie. :lol

Please remake that Rachel in the Tumbler video jye. Please.

I thought it was Sabretooth when I first saw his sideburns peeking thru the shadows.

I really thought the clone was going to be Sabretooth.

He even looked like Shreiber. :lol

I don't know, i'm split 50/50 on wanting Sabretooth or Cloneverine.

Logan just made all other modern cbm movies look like kiddie movies, except Dredd, that movie kicks just as much ass.

Yup. And like Logan, Dredd is also a simple, straightforward story without any doomsday devices, apocalyptic threats, invasions or throw away CGI villains.

I love the idea that Logan just died in a forest somewhere without anyone but those kids knowing or caring. It's just like Dredd how the that apartment complex was just another day in the life of Mega City 1 and that it was just one of many crimes happening throughout the day. The end of Wolverine wasn't some huge bombastic, overly grandiose crap like him riding in a stupid looking helicopter with a bomb anchored to it, saving the kids while faking his death. Logan actually went out like a boss, a real hero. That Shane eulogy that Laura gives was actually really touching. I love how they implemented that into the story with Charles watching that with her in the hotel room and reminiscing of when he was a young boy, watching it for the first time in theaters.
