Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

I don't. There has yet to be a single good solo Wolverine movie. I don't think this will be the 1st. It's a shame, Jackman and this character deserve better.

The Wolverine was a good film.

What prevented it from being a great film was the third act and the PG-13 rating. Had the film been shot R and kept the third act grounded it could have been great.

This film is being shot R so that's already a huge step up.

After that Weapon X scene in "crApocalypse" I'm all in for one more Wolverine film! :lol

Especially if it's R! :rock

I found The Wolverine to be mediocre at best. An R rating wouldn't have saved it for me. More gore or bloodshed couldn't make up for the things I found wrong with the movie. It wasn't horrible but mediocre just doesn't cut it for me with this character. I want to see a kick ass Wolverine movie. I'm a HUGE Wolverine fan and really like Jackman in the role but they haven't done him or the character any justice as far as I'm concerned. X2 came the closest to giving me the Wolverine I want to see on film. That was fun to watch.

The cast of the next Wolverine movie (which will feature Hugh Jackman's final appearance as the clawed mutant) has been steadily growing over the past couple of months, but other than the returning Patrick Stewart, we have no idea who everyone from Boyd Holbrook to Richard E. Grant are playing. However, thanks to Nerdist, we now know that Logan is going to square off with the Reavers.

For those of you unfamiliar with the team, they're a group of cyborgs (including the likes of Lady Deathstrike and Skullbuster) that are best known for their criminal activity, and their hatred of mutants. The site goes on to speculate that it could be Grant who is playing their leader, Donald Pierce. Beyond that, they throw out some theories that both the Hellfire Club or Essex Corp. could be the "global enterprise" backing them, but nothing beyond the fact that Wolverine will fight the Reavers appears to be concrete information as of right now. Regardless, this is an interesting choice of villains.

The site also mentions that "we’ve heard small rumblings that Liev Schreiber might be returning as Sabretooth," so who knows how much he'll end up being involved here! What do you think?

:lol

In all seriousness I just wished they knocked The Wolverine out of the park. I've always loved the comics that movie was based on and it hurt to see them muck it up. It was decent in parts but overall such a missed opportunity.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

I'd rather see Jackman's Wolverine in Infinity War than another pointless Fox film.

First Class, Days of Future Past and Deadpool are miles better than the majority of the MCU films.

The current FOX regime is solid and their commitment to giving their filmmakers freedom is something I wish the MCU had. Sure, FF was a miss but everything else they've cranked out since Rothman left has been stellar.

With Marvel Studios, after the Disney merger we've only had two great films out of 8 in four years (three if you're on the Civil War bandwagon which I'm not).

As far as I'm concerned, I'm much more excited about the upcoming FOX slate than any of the MCU's completely uneventful next installments that maybe, maybe might pay off in an Avengers film.

Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel....Inconsequential as far as I'm concerned. Its all about Infinity Wars.

Wolverine III, Gambit, Deadpool 2, X-Men: New Mutants, X-Force.....now those, all of those, I'm looking forward to.

So I've heard. I'll be seeing that **** burger in two weeks or so. Christ, I wish someone do it justice by doing it based on Barry Windsor-Smith's version.
