Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

As opposed to two mediocre Wolverine movies, three terrible FF films, and the X Men's mess of a timeline/continuity? Yeah, there's no way Disney can ever top that.

Marvel Studios

1. IRON MAN 2 (2010) Crap.
2. THOR (2011) Crap.
3. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011) Mediocre.
4. IRON MAN 3 (2013) Crap.
5. THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013) Crap.
6. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015) Mediocre.
7. ANT-MAN (2015) Crap.

FOX

1. DAREDEVIL (2003) Mediocre.
2. ELEKTRA (2005) Crap.
3. FANTASTIC FOUR (2005) Mediocre.
4. FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER (2007) Crap.
5. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (2009) Crap.
6. FANTASTIC FOUR (2015) Mediocre.
7. X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (2016) Mediocre.

Looks like both studios have an equal amount of hits and misses. Sure, Disney wins the money contest in a big way but money does not equal content.

Don't care for critics. Haven't cared for them since they gave IRON MAN 2, IRON MAN 3 & THOR: TDW Certified Fresh ratings.

Critics are dead to me.

The first Thor and Antman are not mediocre and you left out The Wolverine, so Disney wins, 8 films and Fox with 5 in less than a decade. :wave

Nah, The Wolverine is a good movie. Not a great movie, just a good subtle character study for Wolvie.

Thor (2011) was safe, generic popcorn. Nothing ambitious about it. The fake town out West was awful and the character development is non-existent (he learns humility in 36 hours???). Mediocre.

And ANT-MAN is garbage. Who was that for? Children? Even my kid thought it was stupid and kept asking me after we left "so they just kept the giant ant?!?"

What makes ANT-MAN even more depressing is that it could have been something truly transcendent under Wright. But Marvel/Disney sent him running for the hills (like they did with Whedon afterwards).

It's funny how you assume that a movie that doesn't even exist would have been a work of greatness.

No, what's really funny is how you don't assume that Edgar Wright, one of today's most brilliant filmmakers, wouldn't have delivered something far superior to the garbage Marvel served up via [BRING IT ON's] Peyton Reed.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

No Wolverine movie will be good in my eyes unless there is gratutious amounts of blood and gore not because I want it but because A. physics and biology demands it and B. the mother ****er has claws ****ing claws. The doors open to the Weapon X room and it should look like the Shining since he was purely in a primal rage when he woke up.

Watch X-Men Apocalypse. Its basically our intro into R-rated Wolverine.

His scene in the film is glorious.

I probably will see it and I hope you are right, I love Wolverine as a Character and Hugh Jackman has done a fine job but he never got the chance to excel becaue of the scripting and directing.

Deadpool changed that. They were still trying to keep Wolvie family friendly (which he ain't).

The success of Deadpool opened the door for an R-rated Wolverine, finally.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

have full confidence this movie will be absolute **** even with the r rating.

origins = dog****
the wolverine = racist dog****
wolverine 3 = bloody dog**** that's possibly also racist again

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

the wolverine = racist dog****

And there goes credibility out the window.

Its one thing to dislike the subtle, anti-popcorn nature of Mangold's Japan story but to call it racist dog**** is just ridiculous.

Stick to the MCU's barrage of one-liners and family friendly inconsequential storylines.

Re: WOLVERINE (March 3rd 2017)

oh big bad european wolverine comes to foreign country and shows these puny asian men what's up.

there isn't a single japanese man in that movie that is shown with any dignity. they're either weird, weak, woman-hating, or just pure scum.

the women are also just subjects for his conquering, as they'll never be his true love, and just side-*****es.

it's pretty much what a non-japanese teenager would fantasize about with japan.... just another white man's power fantasy flick.

I don't know a single japanese person that did not feel at least a bit of racist undertone in that trash.

And the sad thing is, the director probably isn't even aware.
