For me

X2's first and second act >>>>> Avengers act 1 and act 2

Avengers act 3 >>>>>X2's third act

:chase

This is what I remember...

3rd act of Avengers had everyone at my midnight show going bonkers with excitement then the movie ended to thunderous applause, just like how democracy ended in ROTS.

3rd act of X2 had everyone at the first show asking if Wolverine's berserker rage was ever going to happen, then the movie ended to thunderous silence.

The berserker rage happened in the first act and it was awesome. Everyone at my midnight show [in Chicago] went nuts when Wolvie killed the soldier in the kitchen and proceeded to kill 10 more. More applause came from Pyro attacking the cops. More applause followed with Wolvie kissing Jean. Thunderous applause happened when Deathstrike drew her claws and Wolvie said "Holy ****.". The final round of crowd cheering happened as Famke narrated "evolution leaps forward." and the flames became visible in the lake.

That was a great midnight show. I remember the trailer for X2: Wolverine's Revenge came on before the movie.

Yea nah, 3rd act of overpowered Avengers just beating the hell out of a bunch of aliens that had weapons that were weaker than a gun, killing absolutely no one on screen doesn't compare to the 3rd act of X2. Where there wasn't just action, but actually a story.

Hmm...that's a good point.

When does the X2 3rd act begin?

When Mystique takes over the control room....

As a standalone movie X2 is a very good movie but I certainly appreciate what the MCU accomplished with the Avengers.

Sure, X2 might have a more solid narrative exploring profound.themes but Avengers is still a fun romp with colorful heroes and villains, and the 3D is amazing. :lol

I don't have 3D.

Pfft, as if the opinions of Normies count... Kidding aside, X2 is obviously superior as a standalone film, but Avengers isn't considered good because of its quality, but mostly because of what Marvel accomplished with that. Apples and oranges, really.

I will take my MCU HT dolls out of the trash can then.

Uh, nah bruv. The MCU sucks ass. Like, it sucks so much I don't know how people watch those flicks. It prevents true artists from elevating the genre, givings us pure KINO and translating Moore's works to the big screen. No need to throw them away though. I'll, uh, take them and uh, give them to the uh, sick kids in my neighborhood. Lots of sick and homeless kids here, yeah. Not for me, nononononono, for uh, for them. Yeah...

Yea around where Evilface said.

Nicca please, they were weak as a baby!

You're probably right, but they looked invincible against the Chitauri.

Hmm...good point.

Had there been a halfway decent villain, and some formidable bad guys for them to fight, the 3rd act of The Avengers could have been a lot better. Instead it's just a montage of all them beating on the weakest bad guys I've ever seen, the Chitauri had worse aim than Stormtroopers.

That's a good point, but I'll always give Fiege most the credit here. To me the hard part was everything before The Avengers, building a cohesive universe, putting out successful standalone movies with B list characters and getting the audience to care about these characters. It made things a lot easier for Whedon, he didn't have to introduce new characters, or really write a deep story. What Singer had to do was much harder, because his X-Men films didn't have the luxury of having these characters fleshed out in their own movies. If anything, The Avengers should have been a lot easier to actually give us a good story over X-Men. I know that's not what Disney really wanted though.
