I don't think Apoc is dead. I think he stored his essence in Psylocke. The way she looked back at the battle scene and just left and disappeared leads me to think Apoc may reside in her some way and he'll be back if they want to use him in a sequel. It's not like he'd be the 1st character to come back from the "dead".

Hinting at Sinister in the 80's only for him to show up in the 2030's or 40's is a very strange way of doing things. And wouldn't Prof. X be like over a 100 years old by then?

They're basically implying that Sinister was always behind Weapon X. That mutant experimentation didn't end with Trask and Stryker. There was a bigger threat, much older and more powerful than both of them, lurking in the shadows.

Xavier was born in 1933 so he'll be well over a hundred in this movie. He'll probably be the Hawkeye character in this version of OML.

Wouldn't he have to have done the ceremony thing with the sun light and stuff?

I think she was just pissed that she lost and didn't wanna be a hero so she bounced. I think Cable should grab her when he's time traveling and bring her into present day.

Looks like Jackman has a full beard at some point in the film

My guess is this is the beginning of the movie. He goes into Wolverine mode after the funeral and styles it the classic way

Looks like Jackman gets out of a car at some point in the film

My guess is this is the beginning of the movie. He goes into Wolverine mode after some bad drive through service and rams it through a Panda Express

No, what's really funny is how you don't assume that Edgar Wright, one of today's most brilliant filmmakers, wouldn't have delivered something far superior to the garbage Marvel served up via [BRING IT ON's] Peyton Reed.

First of all, I Assume nothing, especially not in the film industry.

Secondly, calling Edgar Wright "one of today's most brilliant filmmakers" is going quite a bit overboard. He has an amusing wit, and is sometimes a competent filmmaker, but I think it stops there.

Honestly, I'm getting more of a "Death of Wolverine" vibe...

...than an "Old Man Logan" one:

They might be mashing up the 2 storylines, with the "mad scientist" being Cornellius, but having it set in the future, at least for a while. I could see it. Still, I'll wait for more info before I start speculating.

FOX does make great comic films but these films aren't it lol and this is Hollywood we are talking about, Money rules all, Wrights box office track record isn't good, that with him not wanting to play ball with Marvel is why he got fired/walked away. Like Marvel is going to let a director make the first film of a franchise that is supposed to carry on beyond the Avengers films without any of their say so is crazy (Which is why Wright left the project). If you're a director that wants full creative control over your film, cool, that's not going to happen in a Marvel or Star Wars film, not when one of the main goals of the film is to sell toys. I love Wright but Marvel made the right move with Peyton, he made a successful movie, it made money and at the end of the day that's all that matters to Disney, that's why they paid billions of dollars for Marvel. Personally I loved Ant-Man, it's up there with Guardians as far as surprises go with how much I really did like it.

Who knows what happens when his host body is destroyed? Maybe the ceremony is for transferring one living host to another. Once a host body is destroyed, maybe he can transfer his essence to someone else or revert to a prior host. He's too damn powerful to be dead. If they do decide to bring him back later I really hope they update his armor to a more mechanized suit (like it is in the comics). This character and his motivation need to be redeemed if they do decide to bring him back.
