Look at the Rivendell Council one, again the left is way too orange, from the tress that should be green, to everyone's hair colour. Now look at the right one, much better skin tones, hair that is more blond for Legolas and brown for Borimir and the back of the head of Aragorn.)

The filters in the film weren't supposed to look "realistic." They were used to help convey the fantasy nature of the setting. Of course no one really glows orange like they did in Rivendell. Likewise with the blue/grey filters used in Moria, Osgiliath, etc. But that was never the point.

Like I said before as long as he preserves the integrity of the theatrical editions (unlike some other director) I don't really have a problem with it. The fact that the green filter was added to FOTR:EE and not TTT:EE or ROTK:EE highlights the notion that its most likely an error and not something to be celebrated.

Again, they used this cut of the film last week for the EE in theaters and it looked great.

Anyone who can't see green snow in the second pix is blind or at least colorblind

I'm not going to cancel my order on this because of one shot because the rest looks good to me. Now if the whole movie looked like that, I could see the gripe. And actually, in the other one, the snow has a pink cast to me.

When I was watching this in the theaters on a giant screen the snow didn't leap out at me like "OMG THAT SNOW IS GREEN!!!! :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: "

So no, I am not worried a bit how it will look on my 52 inch.

From the review at blu-ray.com: "If you haven't been embroiled in the debate over the revised color timing that graces the new Extended Edition release of Fellowship of the Ring, you may soon be. The differences in color and contrast between the extended cut's 1080p/AVC-encoded transfer and its theatrical cut presentation are substantial and unmistakable; the differences in color and contrast between the EE's presentation and that of its 2002 Extended Edition DVD counterpart are substantial and unmistakable as well. Shadows are darker, saturation has been dampened in key scenes (the Council of Elrond, in particular) and greens and cyans, though already heavily at play in the film's original palette, have been noticeably intensified throughout, in some cases during sequences that once featured very little green or cyan at all. "

In short: PJ ruined Fellowship :( Or did he? Read the full review here

At least he didn't mess with the other 2 but we only get 2/3 of a great set = cancel for my part. I'm not paying full price for a ruined product. And it won't be long before it's halfprice anyway.

I'm glad it's not just Sideshow stuff that gets nit picked at before seeing the finished in hand product. :lol

I wonder in this goes for the rest of the world as well but here in Denmark the release has just been pushed from june 28th to july 12th due to "prolonged productionstime" and according to the pressrelease it should be the same all over the world. Not that it matter to me as I don't entend to buy. And those who know where to look have been able to d/l rips for the last 10 days.

damn some of you need to loosen up on life. relax and enjoy things instead of worrying about "green snow" :lol

jesus christ...
