I got mine today and I have checked over many scenes in FOTR.
Well first I can say the scaremongering that you will be watching the film through green tinted glasses is utter crap.
Secondly the two scenes that have been shown with green tint seem to have been done on purpose by Jackson. The second breakfast scene does have a tint of green to it no mistake, and the snow does look an off colour, but the tint gives off an overcast look that you get if the sky is overcast or the sun is not quite up yet. They are also near a bog which has been given a deep green hazy look to it.

The second snow scene where Boromir picks up the ring actually has a Cyan blue look to it, much like when the sun is setting, so once again the snow is not completely white, but it still looks natural to me. The Shire scene at the start looks great and the greens of the shire really stand out, but looking at the sky it is still a natural blue.

I'm still holding out for Best Buy since they'll probably have some bonus reward points for buying it from them.

Thanks for the review Dino...very nice job mate.:clap

The presentation box looks really nice.:clap

The disc boxes are a little bit of a letdown however imho. :(

So glad the blu-ray movies themselves look so good.

Really looking forward to getting my hands on them soon myself.:yess:

Thanks for watching. Would you have preferred the cases to be black like the US version, or is it the artwork that is a let down?

Official statement about the color timing from WB and Wingnut:

"Warner Bros Home Entertainment Group confirms that The Lord of the Rings The Motion Picture Trilogy Extended Edition Blu-ray accurately represents the intended look of each of the three features.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ was remastered from the original digital production files in order to reproduce the full color imagery of the feature."

So these discs look exactly like PJ and Lesnie want them to look. (And that's good enough for me.)
