Pujols' bad year (.278) >>>>>>>> Bautista's career average (.251)
Isn't Luke Pujols Albert's second cousin playing at Fort Osage?!?!
Yeah, I'll take Albert not off to his normal start compared to Bautista's last year and a half every time.
He was. I think he got drafted by the Cards. Not sure if he's still in their system though.
^^^ Exactly. Pujols has put up MVP(!!!) numbers for the last 10 years. Has broken more records than ENTIRE TEAMS of players combined, and cemented himself in the Hall of Fame around 3 years ago.
He's a 3 time MVP(should've been 4)
He's...ahhhh, screw it. Here you go:
9× All-Star selection (2001, 2003–2010)
World Series champion (2006)
3× NL MVP (2005, 2008, 2009)
2× NL Hank Aaron Award (2003, 2009)
6× Silver Slugger Award (2001, 2003–2004, 2008–2010)
2× Gold Glove Award (2006, 2010)
2001 NL Rookie of the Year
6× NL Player of the Month Award
4x NL Player of the Week Award
2004 NLCS MVP
2008 Roberto Clemente Award
2003 NL Batting champion
2009–2010 NL home run champion
2010 NL RBI champion
He's been regarded as, arguably, the best player in baseball the last 7 years.
Don't even MENTION Bautista's name or that joke of a franchise in the same sentence as Albert. Albert has taken dumps more menacing than the Blue Jays line-up.. Bautista is having a break-out year. Fantastic. Let's see him do it for the next 10.
Albert, I have no problems saying that he is and will go down as one of the best hitters to ever play baseball. The fact he is just now struggling a bit 10 years is quite amazing.
Yeah, Cards' fans should be extremely upset with having the most World Series titles in the National League, more Hall of Famers than you could count, and an rabid and extremely devout fanbase.
And what menacing rotation do you speak of? lol. The Cards have had a decent rotation for much of the last decade, but it's always been the bullpen that has killed them.
They had a chance in 2004, and sealed the deal in 2006. The Cards have been riddled with injuries this year, yet still are in 1st in the Central.
If competing EVERY year, having 10 WS titles, and some of the greatest players in baseball history is a disappointment, then sure...I'm sure STL fans are very disappointed.
And anyone who claims the accomplishments of a team from before they were even born is a loser that might as well pick the Yankees, Celtics, Canadiens and Steelers as their favorites.
Really? That shows a complete lack of intelligence when making comments like that. I'm sorry my favorite team was around before I was born but I will claim their success as part of the history of the team. I know your favorite team is still a baby but I can't help that. Someday maybe they will be winners but I can't help they've really never done squat.
