I'm only joking. The TDE soundtrack alone makes me wanna see it.

Just been so busy I can't ever get my *** to the movies anymore.

What’s the timeframe within the main story? I recently watched CIVIL WAR again and wondered when the post-credit scene would take place, if T’Challa is only arriving to Wakanda for the first time since then. BLACK PANTHER implies it begins immeadiately after CW, but in the course of the film, Shuri makes a reference to Bucky. Were Bucky and Steve hanging out in the back of the ship at the beginning? Were they sent for some time before the first waterfall fight?

It’s hilarious how there’s like only snippets played in the movie, the song with the weeknd in the Korean casino and few bits here and there.

Do they use a classic score instead of the album? That's a shame.

It's quite fascinating the love for Wakanda and wanting it to exist, and the same people utterly refuse to try and improve what Africa actually is. All those futuristic skyscrapers and they can't even build a house better than a bird or a beaver.

In the scenes in Wakanda they play African music, I liked that part.
But they definitely could’ve used the album better.

And if anyone gets the chance to see this in 3D-4DX, that’s the way to do it, I don’t think I would’ve liked the movie as much as I did otherwise.

>blacks wanna live in WaKANGZda
>soyboys wanna live in Pandora
I just want a Doom to come in and fix YuroPoor. I'm not asking much here. Dude hasn't even changed the buildings, but at least things work.

I respect your opinion. Mine is that you should go on $5 night. It might be everything brainy like he says, but it’s also not an A+ Superhero action movie. Don’t go in expecting the excitement and extended action that Marvel is known for. His power is that he can jump around like a cat and eat magic flower eggs. No Mjolnir. No repulsers. No web-shooters.

I respect SNKT's thoughts and on this board and elsewhere am happy that others found meaning and beauty in this film. Some of the comments remind me of what I see in CW, TWS, IM1 and even a small bit of Ragnarok, re depth and dynamics.

And I believe I'll be into the design aesthetic, costumes, some of the performances. I'm especially intrigued by M'baku.

But for me - maybe this is true of anyone in a large diverse urban area - at least some of the messages in this film and Killmonger's world view - for me that's not unique. You can pretty well read or see variants of it every day around here. IMO if Marvel wanted to touch on poverty and social issues I'd really like to see them work with Native Americans. So that's a thing, for me. Fatigue.:( (Also can't shake the thought that Kilmonger's ancestors were probably on the high end of the social scale and Wakanda was both isolated and protected so that kinda undermines a key point for me re his character:dunno, as certain things wouldn't have happened to his ancestors. To others, yes.)

Another is - since I'm REALLY into the MCU characters and probably need to get out of the basement:lol - what seems to be Shuri's depiction. Genius or not, comic or not, I'm not seeing scenes like IM, Ultron, CW, Homecoming where the resident genius is tinkering - dirty hands, sweat, cuts and burns. That's just a personal viewpoint 'coz I like to work with my hands. U just can't whip out all the stuff she does with no damage. I mean, at least with IM we see a build-up when he's making stuff. Plus like with IM there's a sense of time. It takes TIME to do stuff. And making stuff is dirty work.

Then there's the distance from the MCU. Critics and others have loved that, thinking that's just great. For me those 5-10 minute interconnection scenes ground the ongoing arc to IW. IMO one of T'challa's best moments was the CW moment with Cap. I thought there'd be some connections in BP. Didn't have to be more than 5-10 minutes. IMO not having that was a bit much when BP (at least this version) may not have existed at all except for the MCU. It may have. BP could have been introduced as a total stand alone. But it wasn't and had the advantage of a successful film world behind it. So why act like that hadn't happened? (Even including the Tolkien guys).

Anyway for me there's these *irritants* and the poor CGI (when I've got all thos Russo fights and Homecoming and Ragnarok in my head). I waz gonna go see BP but then I thought I've never paid for any MCU movie that annoyed me ahead of time except Homecoming. But that was just because I was Spidey-saturated. So for me it's real weird I am skipping this in theater. It's the MCU! But IMO this feels more like a Ryan Coogler movie with an MCU veneer. Coogler kinda sez as much in articles, more or less saying he told Feige there were things he wanted to say etc. It's not like Antman where I already feel happy -MCU yeah:clap (with stellar CGI and even the trailer alludes to Antman involvement with Avengers).

Well, Ok. Except as a consumer BP wasn't the product I was looking for. Just like some didn't like the funny Ragnarok or Homecoming. *Shrug* I figure Disney analyzes stuff and knew some fans (and LOL racists) would pass. The movie is making millions as is. I'll see this eventually (already saw the credit scenes):monkey3

Gotta assume a lot. Like I assume T'challa ran into Cap and Bucky re the IW prelude comic and Cap and Bucky used the Quinjet, with T'challa contacting his people ahead of time. E.g. what we see of Cap and Bucky is never near Wakanda's main city? but some outlying hospital lab.

Then T'challa could have hung around the Hydra facility helping Tony and securing Zemo as T'challa's plane looked like a one-seat. T'challa could have hooked up with the Dora Milaje later to return in Wakanda in style, so most never know about Cap and Bucky being in Wakanda. Apparently it's never in BP but when Killmonger sez "all of your secrets" I think that was deliberate e.g. Bucky would have been a dangerous secret at that point among others.

seeing it in 3d in about 15 minutes... third time overall and I really haven't gotten out of my way to see the film two out of the three times. :lol

great movie though so I don't mind.

The actual score of the film I thought was incredible. Up there with the asgard theme from thir if you ask me. The music after the fight between killmonger and T'challa is superb.

I cared little for the hip hop tracks but killmonger's theme is pretty cold too.

And the music when they first arrive in wakanda was excellent too

It definitely takes place soon after CW, I'd imagine within a week or two. The events of the movie take place over a day or two so its all pretty bang bang. But they are very hush when it comes to any context of cap or Bucky, so they didn't write themselves into a corner.
