It definitely takes place soon after CW, I'd imagine within a week or two. The events of the movie take place over a day ir two so its all pretty bang bang. But thet are very hush when it comes to any context of cap or Bucky, so they didn't write themselves into a corner.

The news report he was watching said a week after the UN bombing

While I thought the rhinos looked shaky - nothing is PM "quality". That's its own special brand of awful that has yet to be topped.

I don't know.. The BP vs Killmonger fight was pretty bad CGI...

For the record I was amazed at how bad some of Spider man homecoming was also.. Its almost like Marvel just does not care as much because they know the films will make bank regardless.

CGI in general has taken a massive nosedive in terms of quality these days. Jurassic Park, which had some of the best CGI for its time, looks miles better than anything in any Marvel movie. With Marvel in particular I'm 99% sure your theory is spot on.

I didn't find the CGI for the Panther vs. Killmonger fight in particular bad - then again I was sitting in the very back row to get as far away from the rest of the audience as possible - so I could have missed something.

I think he's referring to Jurassic PARK, not World.

But IMO, it wasn't CGI that was great in JP. It was the practical effects/animatronics, etc. and how they integrated it with the CGI.

Is it possible to be amicably disappointed by a movie? So many good actors doing good work, and IMO a decent comic-booky exploration of the isolationist theme. But man it’s more derivative than The Lion King (and kinda cribs from that, too).
Also the only thing that looked real was the actors’ faces. Between the obvious cgi and terrible green screening...talk about having a “TV” look...

Hard not to enjoy that cast though, aside from the lead who seems to have completely lost his edge since CW. I guess the good news is now that it’s a finacial success the next one might get more resources. Too bad the only two characters that got killed gave highlight performances. Maybe they jammed those metal senzu beans in them? Vibranium can do anything apparently.

Great idea and characters that deserve better execution.

Not a huge fan of Kendrick either. He's alright but he's not the best like people claim.

SNIKT after watching Black Panther once:

I freaking hate that guy. Dude is weird. He is getting chased all over LA after taunting the gang members up there.

I still haven't watched BP :dunno
First Marvel MCU movie in 10 years that really didn't interest me, in part due to that awful looking trailer.
