The thrill of making a good comicbook movie is gone

Disney has had a lock on the action-adventure genre for a long time now. Every year its a Star Wars and 2-3 MCU movies that "fulfill" that need.

I guess that's why something like Jumanji 2 makes such a success -- people desperate for something different. Anything.

I'm very tired of the same old, same old. IW is more of the same -- just bigger.

I suppose next week I’ll start seeing end credit scenes if there are any on Youtbe..but I can’t see why not since Marvel always seems to do this :lol

Huh. Lo res versions already out along with stills and like 20 vids explaining the significance.

So it sounds like you are contradicting yourself saying Disney has got the thrilling marvel universe locked but you’re tired of seeing it? :dunno

It’s hard to believe that society has to make specifically messaged or themed superhero films like your asumption suggests in order to make an impact nowadays. The world we live in now :slap

Exactly. Sad times. And being a white male is even more depressing... Afraid to say what you like or dislike out loud so as not to be labeled as something.

I miss the feeling of being a fan and needing to hide in the closet and being embarrassed to tell friends and family that I was a comic book and Star Wars geek... The good ole days... :rotfl

So, BP & EK suit's powers simply mimic Wonder Woman's bracelets. That's real creative? Wasn't everyone just oohing and awwing over that a few months ago??

So does anyone dare as to compare this to Wonder Woman? I thought that was the best superhero movie ever to change the future of all superhero movies with everything failing to compare that came before it?? I'm confused now. Which was better? A female led character/cast/director movie, or a black character/cast/director/led movie? Is anyone in the media brave enough to publicly say it in a review?

I was let down by Wonder Woman. Is this all media hype just like WW? A friend saw it last night and he said it was good, not great. A middle tier marvel movie like DR. Strange. And overblown in the media just like WW.

I'm only looking forward to IW this year anyway.

It’s better than Wonder Woman

WW was terrible. Bland, safe and childish social commentary for young adults. Didn't deserve any of the praise it got and Thank God the A.M.P.A.S. ignored it with last month's Nominations.

BP actually lives up to the hype.

I didn't like the younger sister's character/writing:
One young girl is the sole reason for all of Wakanda's technology/medical advances etc? This part just seemed weird, fell short. Maybe she needed a brief character exposition to tell us why she is the "whiz kid".

Agreed. There should have been others in Shuri's lab so it didn't look like she was the only person (besides T'Challa) in this advanced society that knew how the tech worked.

Aside from that minor nit, loved the movie. Characters were fleshed out well, and the villian (Killmonger) had a compelling back story.

I blame crows.

Hey man, im just reporting here, im just a reporter!

Definitely ranks top 5 for Marvel Studios.

For me, it's:

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
2. The Avengers (2012)
3. Guardians of The Galaxy (2014)
4. Black Panther (2018)
5. Iron Man (2008)

Just got back.

Wow, I never imagined I'd enjoy this movie as much as I did. I'm not going to write a full review until the morning but long story short, for me this is the best Marvel movie since GotG1 and Infinity War has its work cut out for it. Killmonger makes almost all of Marvel's past villains, excluding Loki and Vulture, look like epic fails in terms of character development.
