Bad fight for Pacman...looks like a ploy to reel in a chicken
This.
He's a talker...no doubts about that.
And the Mayweather camp stating they will fight some unnamed fighter next year is a pretty lame marketing stunt. I mean, who here got excited from that bit of news.
Speed and reflexes are always the first to go on a boxer (unless the chin has been tested with failing results). Mayweather losing some of his speed/legs and reflexes will def. lose to Pac., even if Pac. has similar degradation of his.
This fight, however, poses an interesting question, who has had the tougher career body-wise. I would argue Pac. has had more wear and tear. MW has had longer lay-offs, so can he maintain his mental/physical acumen?
If both go in the fight today I give MW the edge, based on past fights, styles and overall wear and tear. But this fight isn't made so who the frak knows.
Get it made and lets find out...that is if Pac gets by Marquez
I dont see how anyone can say he got robbed. It could have gone either way IMO, neither we're clearly the winner. So unless you were clearly the winner you can't say you were robbed.
Maybe he should look at his corner for saying he is winning and then playing D the rest of the fight.
I see it this way (and Emmanuel Lewis mentioned this as well).
If you're the champion, you have to have the championship taken from you. Being Captain Obvious here, but as a challenger, you have to either knock out the champion to win the belt, OR if you hope to win by decision, you have to have outfought the champion so thoroughly that the judge HAVE to award you the decision; any evenly matched fight will almost always end in a decision for the champ.

Manny won only based on the number of punches landed. Period. Weak fight. Worst I have ever seen Manny fight. He may have landed more throws, but Marquez seemed to have more power behind his punches.
That being said, Marquez sure looked beat up for someone so sure he won. Pacquiao barely looked any worse for wear.
The opening two fights were great though!
It was the right call. Pacquiao was the aggressor most of the night and especially in the last two rounds. Marquez had a higher % landed but Pacquiao landed more. It was a good fight but Marquez was robbed of nothing.
