So I decided to customize some of these figures, I know, who customizes 5 inch figures, right? I wasn't to happy with the placement
of the eyes on the tv show figures so I gave them a repaint. (and I thought 1/6 scale eye painting was hard) I also repainted the eyes on the comic Rick as well as taking the hat off and sculpting some hair for him.

Saw the show figs today at TRU. They do look better then the comic versions, but still don't see myself getting any. Daryl looked like he had chichiwawa eyes for all the figs they had. The B/W Rick might be the only one I get since I would be using the $6 coupon...still.

Picked up a Rick at TRU today. Gotta say the paint apps vary pretty drastically from figure to figure. A lot of the Daryls had big weird eyes like Sniper said, and some of the Ricks had uneven stubble and single tone skin paint on the face which threw off the likeness. I picked the one that I think looked the best and when the paint doesn't screw it up i think it looks pretty cool.

These should be hitting the UK about now for any one that still wants them the supplier has just had them in.

I picked up the Bloody B&W Rick and the two zombies a few days ago. I have to say that they aren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. The walking zombie or whatever it's called is pretty bad but the other zombie looks great and the B&W Rick is spot on! I'll post pics if anyone is interested...mine are staying in the packages.

Considering a bunch of underpaid, under age, over worked, little Chinese children painted them (on little to no sleep), I am sure the paint apps do vary greatly. Whats funny is: the cheap labor in China is supposed to keep costs low for the figures. But my lcs had these for $16.99 each. Thats not a low price. Its high as far as I am concerned.:peace

That's on par with what TRU's charging. :monkey1 :lol

I still wonder: with the price of petroleum, the cost of shipping from country to country, plus labor~~~when does it finally become cost beneficial to just make the products in country? Because $7.99 for a figure in the teeny widdle Marvel universe line, and $16.99 for 5 inch Walking Dead figures (even with their Happy Meal features) is ridiculously high imho.:monkey2:monkey3

Given the wages those poor factory workers get, one has to wonder how much of that is actually cost vs. profit. :monkey1

I bet its quiet over at the Spawn boards these days for them laughing at NECA likeness or paint apps when McFarlane release crap like that, sorry under scaled crap like that I was seriously pumped for these.

If McFarlane get Prometheus I'll be so disappointed. McFarlane aren't even up there with NECA or Mezco anymore in terms of quality.

The Spawn board is no more. They took it down not too long ago.

Haha probably got bored of the posts of companies like NECA producing and doing things better than they did.

NECA disappointed me on Predators but won me back with Freddy!
