Gotta disagree Chavez. It's a great Maul Sure, but having met Ray park ( great guy by the way, really happy they dubed over his voice in TPM though, a squeaky brittish sith just would not have worked) in person, from what i can tell of the the pics of the figure, the likeness to him is not there.
Great looking maul, So-so looking Ray Park.
I MIGHT change my opinion when I get him in hand. We will see. :rock

I think it looks great! He looks 3 times better than the SS version.

Should be a great figure. The likeness is solid but not quite Ray Park.I just hope they fixed his ****ty outer robe.

EUREKA! I know what's killing the likeness for me. It's the neck joint. The sculpted neck looks good but when it connects to the body that is where we are getting the "pencil neck" look. If that could be fixed I would jump on the bandwagon of this being an amazing figure. As of now, to me, still meh but at least I finally put my finger on what was turning me off.

The whole thing looks head and shoulders above the SS version to me.And for the price i sure hope so.(if it comes out looking like the protos i'll be more than happy)

:maul

From a certain point of view.

Head to Head (literally)

Sculpting - SSC = Medicom
Paint Apps - Medicom > SSC
Actor Likeness - SSC > Medicom

It all evens out in the end, neither perfect.

That blank SS sculpt looks better than the finished one."Literally"

Maul did'nt have eye brows BTW.

Ray Park did have eyebrows and they painted over them, and I've painted over the SSC sculpt, it's no different than the bare, pre-painted proto.

It gives his head more movement.Embrace, for it is your destiny:D

I'd guess that maybe early-mid February we'll start seeing the overseas shots of him. Hopefully the same person that had Boba and Jango Fett to shoot early will get Maul too, they're a great resource for early glimpses.

Maul will possibly be my last 1/6 Star Wars figure so I'm really looking forward to getting it. I don't normally spend much time reposing my figures but this is one that could prove to be the exception. I might even end up getting a second one so I can display it on a Hasbro Sith Speeder.

The only real issue I have with the heads is that rather than have the bottom of the sculpt follow the jaw line up to the ear and then back down to the base of the skull they've opted (on all the figures) to have a flat across partial neck. Which does hurt the appearance on any figure with a low collar. I think if that were fixed it would make a big difference.

But as it is its a very nice looking sculpt of Maul, especially with the skin texture.

I wait for in hand shots before I give any comment on the skin texture as it seemed like Medi Jango might have had that in the proto shots and the final head was just regular plastic.

Part of the neck issue is the manner in which they do the head and neck for that piece, but also, in general, their necks seem a bit too thin anyway. It'll be a kickass figure, but it won't be without imperfections like any other figure.

It'll be great, but I have a feeling in the end it'll balance out with Sideshow's, each with definitive strengths and each with nagging weaknesses.

Not IMO.Not if those protos shots come out as the final figure. To me those look insane and having owned SS maul,it looks nothing like what Medicom is going to deliver.(SS maul looks good in it's own right, but this is the next level IMO)
