Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hell yeah. There's just too much to talk about in regards to the original 3 MGS soundtracks. Do you have them Plis?

BTW, I woke up at 8 a.m today after hearing those grueling schedules you guys have and I haven't done that in months, work doesn't start until 2 p.m so I've gotten lazy. :lol

Don't own the OSTs. I probably have the smallest actual MGS game and merch in these threads :lol

I just got a good amount of the figures.

So I've gathered. Based on past discussions on DVDs and blu rays, you seem to missing some essential disc based media in your life. :lol

I have the soundtrack CDs for MGS1, 2 (both), 3, 4 and the 20th Anniversary. I'd give an arm to get the MGS2 Black/White sorter OST.

Yeah I basically just own the games. It's a trade off though, I got enough cash to get both but I prefer pushing it all into just getting the figures for right now.

I think the biggest piece of merch I own is a box of Calorie Mate that my GF got me :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think he means the music in the trailer, and I agree.

And yes, MGS4 didn't have a great soundtrack either, it was just meh mostly, to me.

Although, PW soundtrack is straight up fantastic.

Yea, PW soundtrack was great. I think the Phantom Pain is going the be the best one yet. Sins of the Father is already in my top 5 Metal Gear tracks.

This is the 1st time I'm going to disagree with you :lol sorry bud.

MGS1 for me is overall the best OST In-game music wise, that feeling of cold metal is just unmatchable for me.

But talking about vocal tracks, I love them all, almost equally, including Sins of the Father.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Agreed nothing beats mgs1 soundtrack except FFVII soundtrack and skyrim.

Yea I was talking vocal tracks, in game music I have to go with MGS1 as well.

I care more for the vocal tracks I must admit.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Love the in-game OST for both MGS3 and MGS1 the best. But my favorite goes to MGS3. The ending score, the chase scene score, and Snake Eater is just so damn catchy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The Demo being shown on the 19th will be on the Playstation 4. It is about time Kojima starts showing the Playstation some love again.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It will never be exclusive to Sony ever again since Konami is all about $$$

Yea I know it won’t but I’m happy he’s showing this off on the PS4. When he showed off the Phantom Pain trailer at Microsofts E3 show I felt betrayed.

I don’t mind it being a being Xbox, the more sales the better for the series.

Sales are good for the series sure, but it doesn't mean I have to like the greed of Konami. This is the only horse they have to play anymore since they ran Silent Hill into the ground. MGS still has longevity but I don't think the future is too bright beyond this game. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we got another Big Boss milking.

If there is another Metal Gear after this one, I think it has to go on to the remakes. I can actually see Kojima making that game and making Solid and Naked Snake playable to see both perspectives, which would be alright with me.

There has been enough of Big Boss only games the last few years. If this game is broken into two games, that would give him 5 games in the past 10 years to Snake's two games.

The next one needs to be a remake and have Snake the only playable character.

I kind of hate the psp titles, wish were never made. Metal Gear to me is too big for a portable title, and those 2 games felt like true milking. So Big Boss(My favorite of the franchise) getting all this time in the spotlight doesn’t bother me at all

It makes me want to vomit. His stories beyond Snake Eater, including this just seem like the same rehashed BS over and over.

At least MGS1, MGS2 and MGS4 were all completely different from each other in terms of their overall plot.

PW just seems like MPO redux, and MGSV just feel like PW on a console.

But there is nothing wrong with it Capcom did it now with Resident Evil .Final Fantasy use to be exclusive if i was in the gaming industry i would do the same thing.

Yea thats why I said the psp titles should have never made. Solid Snake does have the varied stories and they are all interesting in my eyes. I love his character to. But The Phantom Pain(I know I’m in the minority here) to me is shaping up to be the best Metal Gear in terms of story yet.

No game no matter how good it is, will ever beat MGS1 in my eyes, but I think this one can be a close second.

And looks how well those two series are respected nowadays :lol
