Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Even if some things are edited, the over ally story is more human, and of course dealing with a lot of taboos. The psp games felt like they were made by disney.

Well, it's good that you brought up the taboos. The irony is, that it's probably taboo (in some way) for a Japanese man to create a storyline addressing race-relations between White Soviets and ethnic Afghans (or North Africans). Hideo should stay out of things like that :lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's a moot point to say Big Boss will have more fans when he's the only one getting ****ing games :dunno

Big Boss should of stayed artwork and nothing more. His legend has been destroyed.

Big boss was a great character now IMO he's terrible he's misunderstood.

Exactly. Big Boss went from the greatest villain of the series, to the misunderstood hero. And in contrast, Solid Snake became the unknowing pawn of The Patriots, and the monkey-wrench in Big Boss's plans to stop Zero's global influence.

This series is screwed up.

You guys are talking like this guy hasn’t made a good game. He made a game I think most of us on here consider to be a masterpiece.

Kojima made good games, but the series is long past its prime. He wants out, to do other projects, but Konami keeps him stuck with MGS. It's quite sad. Now he's devising these oddly contrived story lines with Big Boss that make no sense whatsoever.

This is the first Metal Gear for as long as I can remember that he actually seems very excited to make. Even though its Metal Gear, he seems to be making the kind of game he wants, and he seems to be enjoying himself. I think it will reflect on the game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

MGS3 was a masterstroke that Kojima went to do a prequel with Big Boss, now it feels it's just too much erm, stroking. :slap

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The reason Kojima keeps coming back to MGS is because people want more MGS and can't see anyone else doing it.

Sadly, this is also true. In the "Solid Snake vs. Big Boss" thread that I made, there was at least one person who said that he'd like for Kojima to make MGS games until he dies :lol. Kojima just can't get a break.
