Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So you basically you don’t want Metal Gear doing anything like any other franchise?

MGS V seems to be lacking the innovation that the series once had. There's no real excitement in seeing something that I've seen so many times already from other games. People just have to take off their rose colored glasses to realize what's really going on.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I do honestly think so.

So far, the detective mode seems to me to be more of a conceptual ability than tech, everything else seems rather sober, much more sober than PW.

I didn't remember the leap of faith in the video tough, minute?

Horseback riding.... if he can use cars it would be dumb not to use horses if available, plus RDR wasn't even the 1st game to do that, so no, it's just an obvious choice to put that in, I mean, the Boss used to ride a horse, that's more of a homage to her than ripping off other games.

There's no parkour, literally all I've seen him do is climb mildly high obstacles, nowhere near close what I've seen in AC or Uncharted, not even in TLOUS, again, no ground for that call.

I would have been dumb to not have all that on an open world, I mean, you encounter a small wall, and you're gonna stay there? What is this? Pokemon? You can even climb in MGS4, this one just seems more fluent.

Everything seems to point towards fluency and realism, I do think it's innovating, I can say that with realism and without pink googles.

I don’t know too many other open world stealth games. I also haven’t seen a game where you can call a helicopter to pick you up, all real time and just shoot out of it. The little new gameplay additions I like as well, like interrogating an enemy and making him call out to a fellow soldier so you can ambush him.

Sure there are elements they are taking from other games but besides the mark and the slow-motion stuff, I don’t see anything else wrong. I mean picking up a pow now makes it like Assassins Creed?

Kojima seems to be trying to keep things fresh, and that video showed me Big Boss will have a wide array moves, that in my opinion looked refreshing.

A little nitpick here, I did hate how they have the same jumping off something animation from the previous games.

Nothing but the truth.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Another demo is going to be shown this saturday Kojima tweeted. I think its the same demo but day time or something.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Enough for me to watch it again :lol

Yup same here, and the English version of the Ground Zeroes demo will be on the konami website soon also. We can finally here a decent amount of Sutherland Big Boss.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Still, the fact that is an option reduces the difficulty, part of sneaking is reacting to not be seen, if you already know where the next guy's gonna be without peeking, is less fun for me.

I hope it's optional, or that the AI is a real b-itch to counter that :lol

:goodpost: WORD!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well well, look who decided to drop by. Go back playing your GTA!

No, seriously, I'd rather be playing GTA than talking about this lackluster of a game. :lol

I used to have such excitement for a MGS game when it was first announced. Like with MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4. But MGS4 killed that excitement for me forever, and every game since then has been just another let down.

My sentiments too. Did you beat GTA? How was it? Is it worth the hype?

Whoa wait, even Rising?

Beat it last night and had to wait a half hour through the credits. It's worth buying definitely. The graphics are better than GTA IV but not far and beyond. The character Trevor is a riot. The Last of Us definitely crushes this with it's graphics. R* got their **** together and gave us something similar to San Andreas, but they even left some stuff out which doesn't make any sense. I would of liked to have the Gyms back, this time it's Yoga. And you can't hijack and drive a train like in SA.

The map is huge and it doesn't feel like a dead world, so that's a definitely bar set by them in terms of open world games. The underwater area is pretty amazing, I found a crashed passenger jet and a sunken cargo tanker :lol

Finally came across a shark last night too. And R* can never make women's faces look good, and the animals like the sharks and dogs suffer the same thing.

Damn, I can't wait till I have the time to play it. :gah:

I've been playing this PC game "Gone Home". Considering you're into Heavy Rain and TLOU like storytelling perhaps you wanna check it out. Amazing for a 2 hour game.
