Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Seen it, everything looks incredibly fluent and the MGS feeling is definitely there, that part where BB blows up the c4 to send that vehicle off the cliff was crazy, stuff like that completely justifies the open world, so many possibilities, I just have one complain.... the AI.

It was sooooo stupid in the demo, no better than what we got on PW, seriously, the way the enemies reacted and how slow they were and how easily they were taken down by CQC... In MGS4 in the alert phase you could not take down a soldier by CQC at all, and they were so organized, it was almost beautiful to see them get all tactical on your ***, in this demo they looked so aimless, like headless chickens, it was a total bummer.

I hope, for the love of god that this is an issue of the demo only.

Yeah, those are some good points you brought up. As much as I disliked MGS 4's storyline, it was definitely the most challenging game in the series in terms of enemy AI - when the difficulty was cranked up to Extreme, that is. But, with that said, KojiPro may have demoed MGS V at a lower difficulty setting. At least, let's hope :monkey1.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Just a thought: do you guys think it's possible that Big Boss's ability to see the skeletons of his enemies, could be like a "sixth sense" that he developed as a result of traumatic injuries (eg. the shrapnel, or "horn" in his head) and waking up from the coma? Although, this was the demo for GZ...

I remember that the trailer for TPP had some montages of glowing skeletons, too.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yup, let's hope the dumb enemies are all part of the demo.

Mhm I don't know, as long as is nothing related to tech, I think I can manage to let it through.

If it was tech it would be dumb, I wouldn't like that, if it was BB's ability alone I could swallow that with a some effort, but not that kind of technology, not after PW, as much as I liked PW it took a lot of suspended belief on my behalf and I gave it a free pass since it was on PSP, I don't want that kind of stuff on a major console.

I mean, being able to track down every soldier you mark, at all times, with the exact position, it's just too much, it's a lot of help that I don't think I need, I'm a sneaking master at this point :lol I don't need any help.

"It was hell. They tortured me, cut off my limbs and deprived me of food, but.. <cough> at least they gave me a good conditioner."

I’m sure that it was the difficulty, and Kojima said they are still working on the A.I.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

English version of the original demo will be posted on the 25th on Konami’s website

Glowing skeletons? Like in Metal Gear Online, when SOP is activated?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Thanks for the ref pic. Makes a bit more sense now. Judging by the menu/title (Big Boss X-Ray) screen I kind of expected the game to utilize something like that. I don't want to ***** and moan about the game just yet, cos really I have no idea. I just hope that it isn't a huge part of the game. I will say that's one huge part of MGO that sucked: Seeing your enemy running down an alley from across the map, as they're illuminated... X-Ray whereabouts online... Super cool...

I don't know much on MGO as I missed out on that one but this is not unlike what Batman uses, skeletons and all.

I was kinda underwhelmed by the demo. Firstly did it not look better in the older PAX demo?? Maybe it's just the lesser quality of the video

I actually hate the glowing soldiers it looks stupid(why is it their naked bodies?) and makes it too easy to spot them, completely taking away the suspence.

Other problems are animation glithces since its an unfinished game. I dobt like how the camera snaps whenever snake CQCs someone looks jaggy. The CQCing looked better in peace walker

wow look at the detail on the ground.
Anisotropic filtering 16x for sure.
I am 100% sure that is running on a high end pc.
This game better be out day one on ps4 or PC.

I will be so pissed if they pull another Ps3, xbox 360 release only.

I'd think you would know by now that MGS doesn't come out on the PC anymore.

Ray, it will be for both current and next gen with a 60fps target for next gen.
