Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What future of the franchise? I think he intended for that to be finished with in MGS4, now he’s doing some prequels to give a back story like a lot of other franchises do, I see nothing wrong with that.

But it's pointless we know the outcome.

So what, you wouldn’t want to see a direct adaptation of MGS1 on the silver screen even though would know the outcome? I personally am excited to see how Naked Snake becomes this tragic figure in the franchise.

**** no, it will be another ****ty Resident Evil film franchise.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

:exactly:

It's the same bull **** with the Star Wars prequels.

No, those movies were crap because they were terrible, not because of what they were trying to do.

Movies like X-men FC, The Hobbit, even Godfather 2 were a success even though they were origin stories.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Good thing this is the game, where he is going to be turning into evil Big Boss.

Well, Big Boss is never going to turn "evil" from the way he was established as the tragic hero at the end of MGS 4. He may do things for the sake of the greater good (just like Solidus), but his ultimate goal was always to bring down The Patriots.

Yeah MGS V will be great since he's got such a great track record with prequels... MGS3 is the only good one. MPO was cat **** and PW was dog ****.

But we all know already if you a fan you know all ready.

In this series most of the characters aren’t “evil” but they do evil things, thats what most fans are hoping to see happen this game with Big Boss.

That's exactly what we were saying. He's still going to be the good guy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

No game film does well.

Well imagine a happy world where anything was possible and his happened. Or if you don’t then look at books like Lord of the Rings, most the fans knew the outcome of what was going to happen, but they were excited to finally see it happen.

Same with the Star Wars prequels, except those movies turned out to suck.

I’m saying everyone in this franchise is pretty much a good guy. What can make this game stand out, if Kojima doesn’t hold back from the terrible things that Big Boss does for the “greater good”.

And considering one of the themes of this game is revenge, a lot of the evil things Big Boss might do might be straight out of selfishness and his lust for revenge, which would be totally evil.

You still haven't said anything that will make Big Boss the bad guy.

You can look it like that or you can look at it as, he has a great track record with every Metal Gear on a major console.

I said nobody in this series is a bad guy, some are more extreme than others. Volgin is one of the few I can say is actually bad.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

MGS2 is broadly hated as well as MGS4.

No, they aren’t only with the “hardcore fans”. But those games are critically acclaimed, and have great user review scores on pretty much every gaming site.
