Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Theres a difference between criticizing and just absolute hate. I have read comments on here from people who want this game to fail because Hayter isn’t back or Solid isn’t playable which is just stupid.

:exactly:

... "following the herd" ..

I agree with that, Solid lovers.. ew... I prefer Big Boss :drool :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's staying the same, but axing character likeness and voice actors doesn't make any sense whatsoever considering these faces and voices have been with the franchise for a decade. And dedicating the good part of 10 years to one character is yet another problem.

I believe its hard for you to understand why Kojima did that, I totally agree... it doesn't seem necessary, but the gameplay and all that will be improved I've seen all the gameplay vids it looks like the people that work on this game really care about it.

You see... gameplay is the only thing these games have a leg to stand on lately. The story, character direction, and story telling if you can even call that are so droned out and out right ridiculous.

I'm just intrested to see how Big Boss changes and "becomes a demon" thats the main theme of this game, thats something we've seen since the first game but we didn't see how it happened.

And I love Big Boss

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I never really cared about star wars, and I don't get why some people keep talking about the bad acting in the new ones, in the old ones the guy playing Luke was like a damn stone during the entire trilogy IMHO

I don't mind anyone liking Big Boss. But there is no way in hell he's becoming this "demon" in this game. Kojima doesn't want to do that, he's made it clear that he's the good guy and Snake is the bad.

I'd bet money he comes up smelling like roses at the end and is a misunderstood good guy still.

I agree, the psp games had some really terrible stories, they felt like disney movies sometimes, well PO did. But with TPP, we seem to be getting a true, mature story that Kojima seems to be excited telling. I haven’t seen anything so far with this story that has me nervous.

I always forget his name :lol

I'm not sure about that, plus I don't think there really was a BAD guy ever in MGS, just people doing what they thought was right. And Big Boss is clearly killing a bunch of innocent slaves in the trailer, something he wouldn't do back in the 60s

He will be the kind of bad guy you can relate to, at least I can..

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Big Boss is a super cool character, but his overexposure in the current games is ridiculous. I always picture him like Magneto in X-Men: The Animated Series, where Magneto was evil, yet so cool, commanding and mysterious and the writers never overused him. Big Boss is an open book nowadays and unfortunately, that ruins a lot of intrigue I have in him as a character.

Nervous why?

I still look at MPO as better than PO in terms of story. At least it didn't feel like it was in this weird hokey alternative universe. MPO still felt attached to the events of Snake Eater.

Only thing I'm excited for is any Snake trilogy era characters popping their heads in this game.

I just don't care what happens to Big Boss.

Yea this has me nervous. I hope Kojima doesn’t wimp out and not make Big Boss the monster we all heard about. He already softened him up in MGS4.

I liked him so much more during MGS1-2 since you had to leave so much to imagination. Then with all these prequels, he's just a big cry baby.

I just can't see it happening, not in the least. I'd give Koji so much more credit if you would have the nuts in doing so.

MGS4's ending really ruined everything we knew about Big Boss.

There is a piece of something in his forehead that resembles a demon horn :lol

I think Kojima will make him a real monster, I can't wait to see that
