Aww c'mon Pliss! You gotta give Firefly a watch someday! Then you'll know what me mean. :blissy

Heard nothing but good things about it, same with 24.

Except when I think 24, all I can think about is this video Solidus showed me >_>

I have nothing against the actor, it's Bigu Bossu I wanna see begging me for mercy :lol

I always liked his Dad better.

I've never seen one episode of 24.
Same. Probably never will.

:monkey2 I still love this movie!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I remember the flack I got in this thread for likening MGS to Star Wars. Now even Kojima himself is making that analogy :rotfl.

"I'm pretty sure that the guys at Star Wars had the same issues," Kojima said. "When you try to write something that was supposed to be in the middle there will be some inconsistencies when you go into very small details."

He tried to end his tenure are director too many times, and then decides to end the series basically with MGS4. Now since there is no more "future" with the series, he's backtracking and filling plot holes with paradoxes. Pursuing Big Boss's history completely ruined his legend. At least the Boss still has her legend, hopefully he never does that Boss game in WWII.

"I'm pretty sure they didn't"
Well, unless he is referring to all this clone wars cartoon nonsense then aye. Aye!

The mark of a good story-teller, is someone who leaves questions unanswered, and allows the audience to fill in the gaps themselves. MGS 4 had documented Big Boss's life very well, and there wasn't a need to further explore every nook and cranny in his altercation with The Patriots. Peace Walker was a completely unnecessary chapter in the overall scheme of things, and we can guess that the same might be true for MGS V.

With that said, I would have welcomed the remakes of MG 1 and 2 right after MGS 4, without having to jump through all of these hoops just to get there.

And on that note, the characters have been greatly mishandled. Solid Snake, who was once the main character of the series, has been usurped by Big Boss. And as for Big Boss, he was turned into a character clone of Snake, and the mystery and "legend" that surrounded him has been cast-aside for unnecessary milking of the story-lines.

I'm at the point where I just want the damn game already and not have to wait even longer for the rest of it to show up in whatever shape, form or timely manner they can be bothered to release it.

MGS4 tried to answer every goddamn thing every thought of up to that point in the story. But it still left a little open in Big Boss's history to leave it up to imagination. And Peace Walker is completely irrelevant to the grand story aside from the creation of MSF, everything else has no baring on anything whatsoever and you can pretty much play MGS V without PW IMO.

Big Boss is definitely a clone of Snake, from appearance, to lines of dialogue completely ripped out of Snake's mouth. Maybe I wouldn't dislike Big Boss so much if he was from the get go, a completely separate individual.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So basically Koji is saying "If Lucas can do it, so can I"?
