Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

After watching the trailer for the thousandth time (I can't wait for this game) I think Sean Bean would make an awesome Boss.

Remember the first Young Snake trailer for MGS4? He was a spitting image of Bean.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Anyone see the connection between the name "Ishmael" and that giant whale thing in the end of TPP trailer? It's from Moby (D)ick.
That went right over my head haha. :lol I should've guessed some connection since we already heard "Moby **** Studios", but I wasn't very familiar with the novel. :p

On a side note, I wonder if we'll ever see Big Boss meet Sniper Wolf in a game, I've been curious about that era since playing MGS1. Those are the kind of things I was hoping to see if we kept following Big Boss, but I'm not so sure of the chances of that.

Edit: oh that's why you wrote it "(D)ick" :lol

:lol Damn censors.

That whale thing was really weird in TPP but that name Ishmael rang the bell in my head.

Don't really get what that is about, I still think that whole TPP trailer is a hallucination from that Psycho Mantis looking kid.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I don't think I'm above anyone here, if you feel like that it's either you're imagining it or you may have some kind of inferiority complex. I treat everyone here with respect and I try to be polite with everyone.

Is that so?

The **** tards on MGS Facebook pages are drooling all over this.

I know a couple of people who made comments on Facebook. They must be tards, right? Not to mention that I am most certainly salivating over this new entry in the series. I must be a tard too.

Not according to the average idiotic Call of Dooty esk Big Boss fans. They just swallow whatever comes out of Kojima's ***.

I've been playing COD since Desert Combat. I guess I am just a "Dooty esk Big Boss fan" who swallows whatever comes out of Kojima's ***. Clever play on words with Duty btw.

Never going to happen at this point. It's not about the fans anymore, it's more about catering to the typical action no brain gamers.

If you want to know the intelligence of the average MGS gamer, read Facebook comments.

So if you're liking what you're seeing in MGSV so far, you must not be a fan. And since I like how MGSV is being presented, it is being catered to me. Oh wait, since it's being catered to me I must be a "typical action no brain gamer". Yeah, not sure what happened to my brain. I miss it. Oh well, MORE ACTION GAMES!! WOOOO!!

I'm not going to ball wash this game like most noobs have done so far.

I love ball washing. Especially when they're not my own.

I don't think I'm above anyone here, if you feel like that it's either you're imagining it or you may have some kind of inferiority complex. I treat everyone here with respect and I try to be polite with everyone.

The posts above must be my mind playing tricks on me. No way you could be so disrespectful to others, right? I'm sure it's just a trick of the lights in my office. I'll make to sure to change those when I get a chance.

If he ever goes to Iraq we would probably see that but I don't see how a game would be involved in the middle east again.

GZ/TPP will probably lead to the construction of Outer Heaven in Africa.

I can picture that in my head right now, and you are right on there. Can't really think of too many known actors suitable for the character.

I've read the speculation that Sutherland was used for the voice due to him playing Snake in the movie, I really hope that's not true. I'd rather Bale play him before Jack Bauer.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Although, if it was like Operation Flashpoint that would be pretty neat since that game was all located one island and it was 100's of square miles.
Yeah, they mentioned in some live demos that the open world would include the "whole" world, but that sounds like nonesense.

Well Gray Fox never had facial damage, at least to our knowledge.

Wait a minute, wasn't Frank Jaeger tortured? They cut off their nose and ears...

That would make a lot of sense, it's all so crazy it can't be reality. And I'll admit, the very first trailer, not this new one, really creeped me out because it felt like a nightmare with him sneaking around the hospital. Kojima always mentioned he wanted to make a zombie game, I think he might be pretty good at that. :lol

That's true, I suppose it's not likely at all then. Ah well, guess we have to make our own fan-fictions in our head. :lol

Ugh I really don't want Bale since he would be doing the Batman voice and Sutherland is way too old and doesn't even remotely resemble Snake.

You mean around the MSX games? I have such a vague memory of those now retconned story lines.

But the thing is him being bandaged all over and having a relatively normal face in MGS1 aside from the White looking eye leads me to believe it isn't him.

Although, he definitely should be in it since he's his most trusted Lt.

The one thing that gave it away immediately was Volgin's ghost, wonder why he would pop up. I don't think Big Boss would really be bothered about his death or anything, maybe it holds some baring on the story regarding Russia or something?

Or it could be just child psycho mantis ****ing around with his head, remember how he re-appeared in MGS4 as screaming mantis' "suit".

That really wasn't needed in MGS4 IMO. Him implanting his own consciousness didn't make a whole lot of sense to me with him being dead.

But yeah you're probably right on that, if he really wanted to screw with him why not show him the Boss? It's what the whole war is about really.

That didn't even occur to me now that you mention it, even when I eventually noticed it was Volgin. Now I'm just getting more curious about what the heck is really going on in that trailer. :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Really dude? Really?

Yup. I did it. You're not repeating the same old garbage and are effectively talking about something else regarding Metal Gear. You're also not currently insulting anyone in your not so subtle manner. I fixed the thread.

Anyway, kind of surprised the correlation between the title and a phantom limb wasn't immediately realized by some. It's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the teaser last year. Btw, are there any theories on the "V has come to" line at the end of the trailer? Going to hate myself if it's something obvious.

The whole flying Unicorn thing was pretty odd too. Although, I highly doubt all the weirdness in the trailer is a complete hallucination, we've seen plenty of weird stuff that was in fact reality in the series.

I think it was just a joke, cause it added nothing to that part of the story other than a few nostalgia chuckles.

I think at this point BB is not in conflict about the Boss anymore, not after PW, I think he got closure there, could be that Psycho mantis is just randomly messing up with him and not so much maliciously.

You've fixed nothing, simply people other than yourself were giving valid points and I gave valid responses.

I didn't want argument persisting any further so I just ignored it and moved on.

I'm sure an argument will return and you can stalk my posts once again.

Actually that was the very first theory about the tittle on the internet, even IGN figured that out lol, I'm sure that if you go back to the 1st pages you'll something related to that.
