Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

While he might buy used, I’m hoping a collectors edition and a physical copy is coming next-gen. But I refuse to sign that stupid petition.

The petition makes no sense. It's like, "prove to us that you're worthy of having a physical copy of this game!". Konami blows.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

dlcs are for rookies.

And people with enormous hard drives. Plus, DLCs take forever to download. I'd like to just pop a game disk inside my PS3 and be able to play it, without having to wait.

I saw some disc versions. If that is true I just wont play it. Besides they are certainly going to package them together at some point and I will just buy that used.

Yeah, I think so too. There's bound to be an "MGS V" package that has both Ground Zeroes and MGS V combined.

Yea man, I just bought the digital copy of battlefield 4 for ps4, biggest mistake on my life, took almost 48 hours to completely download. Never again I go digital, unless I have to.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

they obviously think now that an actual physical disk is just a bonus on a collectors edition. thats the only reason to them to produce one, the collectors want it. most people will be fine downloading it for the sheer convenience is what they are banking on. if they dont have to produce a disk pamphlet and case then they make a lot more money. they must be testing the waters right now.

.
I would but I get enough of the Kojima circle jerk in this thread. I imagine you would be like the opposite of Darkside Phil. "I dont even have an M9! Thats because Kojima does not will it. He always knows what's best for me."

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's not so bad to download games, I downloaded TLOU digitally and it only took like 6 hours and I got a new internet provider and GTA took like 3 or 4 hours, but HDDs don't have today the space required to hold a regular library, between those 2 games I filled like 40 gb of space on my 120 gb disk, I think at least a TB would suffice for now, and I see that getting obsolete very quickly.

We're not there yet.

Physical disks are still very relevant.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah, I don't think we're ready for DLC releases... yet. I mean, if Sony (and whatever other companies) can figure out how to stream games effectively from cloud servers - that'll immediately solve the space issues on hard drives.

But, of course, you will need an extremely fast Internet connection for cloud streaming - which will present another issue for a lot of folks :lol.

Not having a physical copy of the game will just defeat the entire purpose of collecting. I mean, are they just going to toss in a figure inside of a pretty looking box? :dunno That sucks.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It still doesn't justify her outlandish character design other than to encourage cosplay and generate hype for the game. Do you think parents would buy the reasoning that "it's deeper than you think" and allow their daughter to dress like that at cons? Of course not.

Kojima seems to imply he has a grand plan for her character and that all will be forgiven once she fits in the plot. While I wholeheartedly do not doubt his reasoning, it's still a half naked lady juxtaposed against a gritty war story involving torture and child soldiers. It's like saying Spielberg should have had Godzilla in Schindler's List because he could stop the holocaust.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What do parents have to do with all this? :lol this isn't a game for kids, if girls want to cosplay this, they're arguably old enough.

Who knows, maybe it fits the context well enough, a story can reach very gritty corners and still have campy **** going on :lol ie: Sin City.

:goodpost: :exactly:

I can't wait to see how Kojima explains his reasoning for this :lol. The only things we know about Quiet so far, is that her character was created for sensationalism and for appeasing Koji's erotic fantasies. He made Shinkawa design her like that.

The Kidzz buy M-rated games all the time. That's why when you play COD online, there will be an entire team of 12 year olds cursing you out.
