Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The Kidzz buy M-rated games all the time. That's why when you play COD online, there will be an entire team of 12 year olds cursing you out.

I don't play CoD :pfft: :lol seriously, I stopped after CoD4.

Doesn't matter, it shouldn't be of concern, developers don't have to restrain themselves of what they want to put in their M-rated games.

Besides, kids have seen MUCH much worse than that.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What do parents have to do with all this? :lol this isn't a game for kids, if girls want to cosplay this, they're arguably old enough.

Who knows, maybe it fits the context well enough, a story can reach very gritty corners and still have campy **** going on :lol ie: Sin City.

It's interesting to find out what is the targeted demographic Kojima is aiming this Quiet cosplay to. I'm betting that a good percentage of the female participants that ends up cosplaying (especially in Japan) would be teens. I don't think it's wrong per se to dress up half naked in public if that's what people are going for, I'm just saddened that it's all done in the name of a silly videogame. Remember Kojima only came with his "it's deeper than you think" reasoning AFTER the backlash. The initial pitch was more cosplay.

As for what do parents have to do with this, I dunno man. I shudder to think of a society where parents have no say (or are not concerned) if their teenage daughter choose to dress inappropriately.

And the less said about Frank Miller, the better bro. :lol

Miller maybe crazy, but he's got a couple good books :lol

It's not that parents have no say in this, they do, but they shouldn't let their kids play or imitate something that's out of a game that is meant to be played by adults only to begin with.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Omi K's Quiet cosplay... *drools*

I don't know what's so crazy though. Fortune was pretty scandalous herself, and as Gaspar said, this isn't a game for kids. This IS hilarious. "What about the children?!"

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

And considering this will be a story about Racism and revenge, kids should definitely stay away. Besides I doubt this game can out do GTA5 in terms of over stepping boundaries.

Good point, everytime I see a parent buying or asking for GTA for their kids I just go

Although that's a bit hypocritical of me to say, I played all sorts of violent games as children and turned out ok, as most of us did, cause I had proper parental guidance.

That hasn't stopped kids from playing M-rate games hasn't it? My 9 year old cousin says her favorite game is GTAV and I almost fainted. :lol

Well, I've mentioned it before, I think if Kojima is serious about making his gritty war movie, he might as well stick with that all the way.

Hey Helen Lovejoy, don't get me wrong, I LOVE these cosplays! I'd say I'd love to see more! I'm just glad I'm not the guy who thought it up and facing heat for it. :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think the main reason people are upset about quiet is because of what Kojima said on twitter. If they would have just shown her then a few people would have been upset but showing her coupled with saying he did this to sell toys and get people to cosplay he made himself an easy target.

Nah, it's not hypocritical. I think all of us played M-rated games as kids. What's wrong with that anyway?

Well, it's not about "kids shouldn't play adult games" I think going back to the point of the conversation, unlike GTA, Kojima simply expanded his M-rated sensibilities outside the medium of the game, by encouraging cosplay. I repeat- There's nothing wrong with that, but it's clear he should have been more responsible about it, that's all.

:exactly:
I almost forgot the he also mentioned that it's to sell toys. God, are we collectors that immature? Wait, don't answer that.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That is still the parents fault. To me, I never understood why game studios, and developers deal with so much problems making the games they want to. Why do developers have such a hard time incorporating controversial themes and content in a game, yet most movies have no problems.

And it never has, but that's the parents responsibility, not gamemakers'.

I'm not sure I want an all-serious MGS, that's not an MGS trait, it can be far more gritty but retaining some of it's campiness.

I think people forget that this is fantasy. No one would like MGS if Snake was some high school drop out that weighted 110 pounds and had a hick accent just like no one would like quiet if she was a acne ridden mother of three. And in the real military thats what your dealing with for the most part.(in my experience)

Well, in Japan, the age of consent is only 13 years old :monkey1. It's obvious that they don't follow the same moral standards that we'd expect from countries in the West. So, it might be normal for them to see a young, prepubescent girl "sexing" herself up in risqué cosplay.

On another note, Sunny will reach the "magic age" of 13 in three years. Can you imagine all of the pedos who're waiting for that? ****ing disgusting :yuck

Yeah I forgot to mention the age of consent there. Wasn't Sunny already 11 in MGR? Wasn't there some erm, photos of her by fans and was commented by Kojima?

I can't stand that **** head.
