If I can recall correctly, didn't Kojima give the same spiel about MGS 3 being his "last game" in the series? :lol So, he couldn't have possibly known (or even conceived) that Paramedic would be Dr. Clark. He doesn't think far ahead beyond the game that he's currently releasing for a time. It's this lack of foresight, that's the cause why the canon is such an incoherent mess.

Wasn't Clark mentioned as a "he" in MGS1? :lol

That's a pretty interesting find :lol. I doubt that it was intentional, because she really seemed obsessed about Godzilla, too. From the way that Paramedic would babble on about movies, you'd think that she was an extension of Kojima's persona in the game.

Anyway, maybe the purpose of her quote, was to serve as an explanation for where Kojima found his inspiration for Gray Fox (aka. Frankenstein's Monster). Sort of like an oddly placed Easter egg within MGS 3 to reference his earlier work.

I think the biggest extension of himself personally is Otacon. And he vicariously lived through him having sex with Naomi :lol

I think that was only mainly in the English version of MGS1 as Dr. Clark's gender was actually left ambiguous in the Japanese version. Actually, the novelization of MGS1 treats Dr. Clark as a woman in which Naomi corrects Snake when he assumed she was a male; a subtle joke by the novel writers poking fun at the English version of MGS1 in light of the revelation in MGS4.

His novel came out a month before MGS4, he could of been privy to some of the plot of MGS4.

I have to go out for a bit, but I just wanted to say to ronri, thanks for showing up and discussing MGS :duff. It's not everyday that we get to bounce ideas about the plot lines back and forth, and even debate about things while still remaining cordial. Hope you stick around, man!

You're welcome and I appreciate the gesture! Honestly, I usually frequent more on the DC and Marvel figure sections (I'm a huge Ultron fan and with him being my most favorite Marvel character, Avengers 2 got me hyped as hell that I still can't believe it). That said, given how you can only talk about figures so much I recently decided to move around the forum a little more. I'm actually surprised it took me this long to post here in the Video Game section considering my huge love for a number of game franchises (Metal Gear being one of my most favorites). :wave

See folks, Ryan is very easy going guy that's been a fan of the series since the beginning. If he doesn't like it, it's not a very good sign.

I knew it :lol

How long did you play for?

101 minutes, but that's because I missed the location where Paz is kept and spent 40 minutes wandering around aimlessly.

Listen guys, I haven't eaten, and I'm gonna grab a slice of pizza. After that I need a smoke, maybe two. BRB.

Stupid $20 bucks wasted grumble grumble..
