Thanks. I've been absorbed in FFX HD and figured I'd wait and see how this game turned out. I'm still not sure if I'm going to wait until I get a PS4 to pick it up.

If you’re enjoying another game right now, I say wait for the price drop, or PS4 to pick it up. PS4 seems like the console of choice.

So, it's been out for a bit now, is it a great game? Is anyone playing the PS3 version? I don't have a PS4 yet.. lol.

I'm playing the PS3 version, it looks great running on an obsolete hardware, up par with the first trailer we saw of GZ. The framerate is 30 to 20 FPS depending on the situation and don't expect any good anti aliasing from last gen consoles. I didn't enjoyed the gameplay & story though as much as I'd expected to though.

Cool, thanks Ryan. It sounds like the PS3 version isn't too hindered by hardware then. Yeah, I'm not sure what to make of things since I haven't spoiled the story for myself yet. lol.

Yeah, the PS3 version is fine, considering that this game was made with the PS3 in mind originally (so was the FOX engine).

Great news guys. Kojima confirmed that the tne is darker to show how Snake became the villain BigBoss!
I was worried they'd make him the good guy all along bullcrap! Thats the best news i could have heard about the story

So long as he keeps his word (for once), I think it's comforting news. I think MGS is over saturated with Big Boss for years now and I hope this will give him a proper sendoff.

Awesome news.

You know what, guys? The one thing that I find reassuring about this, is if Koji can somehow retcon the ending of MGS 4 - which made Snake into the villain after Ocelot's and Big Boss's revelations. It'll be awesome if he can set it right with TPP. Just as long as it's done in a coherent manner, though (which is probably wishful thinking).

He just needs to retcon MGS4s plot. It ruined the franchise imo. Not its basic plot but all the backstory and twists, i dont get how anyone thought it was a good way to answer/end the saga :lecture

I've been thinking quite a bit about MGS4

..And reading articles to see others opinions and things that I might have missed, a lot of things about MGS2 remind me of MGS4 because those two MGS games touch themes beyond the plot and even the context of games.

In fact, the entire MGS4 continuously recalls the series past themes of the necessity of war, battlefield values and personal ideals. And those themes are put to the test along with the gameplays core tenet of intelligent non confrontation. The larger conflict is with this corruption of core ideals, I think the game presents a world where Snake's core values, and by extension, the franchise's, no longer mean anything or at least thats what it seems.

Perhaps that's the reason behind the decision to prematurely age Snake so severely, but the accelerated aging was hinted in MGS2... so I don't know

But some people seem to think his advanced age emphasizes his status as a relic in this digitized battlefield, creating player empathy for his loss of relevance and highlighting his heroism when he continues to stand and fight.

I remember Snake directly contradicts the labeling of himself as ' hero ' several times throughout the game, when he's asked why he still goes into battle, he responds simply that he " still has things left to do "

I think MGS4 could be a larger metaphor for Kojima's career and the evolution of the game industry, where high-powered, mindless-slaughter FPS titles (cough*cod*cough) set in explosive warzones now dominate, and both creativity and individual vision are minimized against the high-risk "arms race" of the video game console war

But games like TLOU are still out there and I'm glad, there are some developers that love what they do and consider it a form of art.

Anyway, I know this is nothing new the game has been out there for a long time, I just felt like sharing this :lol

This is great news :clap

I still doubt he’s shooting the african prisoners at the end of the E3 trailer though.
