Elvis's TPP big boss custom is amazing. But the design itself is not something i crave. Red mech arm, poncho/ generic middle eastern uniform ect.

I didn't even think of it being able to run on last gen. I'm still trying to figure out how it can run on this gen! That's a lot of dedication, when only a small percentage of gamers will see it. It's surely going to keep me busy!

When you guys play open world games, do you try to complete the story first before exploring and completing side missions? The story probably flows much better that way, but I like completing side objectives along the way. Especially if a character in the game is in trouble or a crime is taking place, I have to help.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't mean to break up the Hot Toys conversation!

The Black REX is an interesting concept :lol. Sort of like how a "Desperado" version of REX would look like in Rising.

Are you planning to get any of the ThreeA figures?

Yeah, I admit I wasn't so sure about it at first... but its kind of growing on me.

Nope no huge Rex or Ray for me. All the complaints I've heard about those things plus the price... its too scary, I prefer the smaller version of the Metal Gears, its easier to pose them and they don't take a lot of space

I play the same, unless I’m losing interest in a game, I’ll just rush through the campaign to finish it. Generally though, I tend to play the same way you do.

The 3a Rex is worth every penny. It takes getting used to, because its so intricate. But oh god, if you had it in hand youd feel like Liquid Snake after Solid did the heat/freeze key card mission for it.

Same here. It's a very generic design, and I'm still scratching my head about that Galvez robotic-arm.

I'm not sure how TPP will pan out for me. I've completed some sandbox games, and I've abandoned others because they eventually got too repetitive and formulaic in game-play. It's very easy to get lost in the side-missions when you're playing in the Sandbox.

I actually wonder if a larger portion of the map will be dedicated to online play.

I know its epic, I've seen the pics of yours. I think I might get it eventually... someday, but not in the near future

Seriously, who is this? :panic:

Sandbox games all have the same problem for me. They get boring, and feel empty! GTA4 was good cause it had comedy shows and such, but it still took me a year to complete it. The only sandbox game to properly hold my interest was Arkham City.

In all fairness, some of the MGS4 designs would make great 1/6 figures and that was released in the last 10 years

I think that game in particular has designs that lend itself the most to HotToys. Lots of detail and great ways to hide articulation.
I think MGSV will be the next to get figures. HotToys so far seem to release MGS figures based on the latest games.
MGS3 for The 3DS game. Raiden got Rising, so I think it'll be Snake from MGSV.
Although I've still got hope for Legacy collection figures

Arkham City was just right, in terms of its size and the length :rock. I like the Assassin's Creed games, too, and I've completed all of them except for AC IV.

I actually believe that there's a greater chance that Hot Toys will produce a GZ Big Boss Sneaking Suit figure, instead of a TPP camo figure. They tend to stay away from generic military designs that can be easily bashed. But, a Sneaking Suit figure (especially with wet, water effects) would be something of higher-production quality, and would catch their fancy. After all, they need some way to justify the $300 price tag of their figures :lol.

But, then again, there's no way of knowing what Hot Toys is really up to. They might even skip MGS V entirely and concentrate on Rising.

The fact that we get this Raiden

Means we'll see Big Boss again sooner rather than later, I want the fatigues version but oh well... I'd buy the sneaking suit version if it happens

But right now I'd love to have Sam and Mistral or Old Snake and Meryl.. those are figures I need

Yeah, but on a similar note, The Boss came with the Davy Crockett, and we never got a second figure with the green fatigues and bandana. Or, even Volgin for that matter :(.

But, Sam, Mistral, Old Snake, Blade Wolf... those would be freakin' sweet :drool.

@pturtle and @solidus That's what I end up doing for sandbox games. Here's hoping this game holds most people's interest!

@zombie I agree about Arkham City finding the right balance, and I think that's the only one that held my interest to complete every side mission and find every riddle in multiple playthroughs. I did the same with Arkham Asylum, and it never felt like a chore. Cutting all the fluff from the game really helps, because there's almost always that ONE section that keeps me from replaying some of my favorite games.

Hot Toys-wise, I would love to get MGS3 green fatigues Big Boss for a solo display, and MGS Solid and Liquid Snake.

:lol

She is Olivia Dudley, oh we like her...

Henry, I do love your taste in women. :drool one of my favorite things about you

Solidus is right though, Hot Toys (hell most toy companies at this point) can be random. None of us saw Rising coming I think.

It's quite interesting to note that the only real competition MGSV has right now is.. Arkham Knight?

Both MGSV and AK were in development for more than 3 years now. Both promises mind blowing gameplay, stunning visuals and the end of a saga. The thing about open world games is that the vastness of the world has to grip you throughout the experience. Initially, I didn't agree with the concept of a city in Arkham City when it was first announced but the open world approach only added a sense of urgency to Batman, strengthened the gameplay and it ended up as one of my favorite games ever.

Kojima, master of easter eggs and detail that he is, will surely engage the players with things to do within such an absurd map, though what did he meant when he said "some players won't be able to complete it" is beyond me. Arkham Knight is really shaping up to be really tightly designed, and you're not riding horses or driving trucks, you get the Batmobile- something I've been waiting to be done right for decades now.
