A twist that everyone has been speculating about since we found out Hayter wasn't involved isn't much of a shock. I'm sure there will be twists in the game, I just hope they aren't that predictable.

I honestly hope we get something on the level of Raiden. That came out of no where and was like a bat to the side of the head of the gaming world.

I think with all the speculation that has been going on with this game since it was announced, the real twist would be if there wasn’t one. MGS 1 and Snake Eater had the most straightforward stories in the series and seem to be the favorite in the series by most fans. While I love MGS2, it took me a long time to appreciate that game, I don’t want to love MGSV in 5 years I want to be blown away at the time I’m playing it.

Can't be. Raiden is Liberian and his parents were killed by Solidus during the Liberian Civil War many years later. He's also much younger than Snake. As for Big Boss, he was sterile because of exposure to radiation at Bikini Atoll in the 1950s...

Well, maybe another form of " replicating " Big Boss then. Out of everybody in the Metal Gear franchise Raiden and Big Boss's storylines are near identical. The snake brothers have the looks, but Raiden has more in common as far as everything else goes

I'd say that the similarities between Raiden and Big Boss are superficial at best. The only thing that they truly share in common is their name, "Jack". But, for Raiden, that came as a result of him being nicknamed "Jack the Ripper", as a child soldier.

If anything, Raiden shares more in common with Sold Snake. Both of them have tried to find new meanings for their lives, and they both rejected their respected father figures (Big Boss for Snake and Solidus for Raiden).

Well, its superficial but if i were to bullet point it it pretty much covers their arcs.

The Boss " Raised " Big Boss to have the fighting ability he does now, she was a mother like figure. Big Boss had to take her down (she was really a good guy)

Solidus " raised " Raiden to have his combat skills, father like figure ect. Raiden had to take him down ( turns out Solidus was a good guy... kinda )

MGS2 Is Raiden being " duped " to fufill the role set out by the patriots much like Naked Snake is in MGS3 by Zero. Not identical but similarities.

The name Jack is a given, but 2 major characters having the same name?

They both lost an eye, and limbs ( Raiden to an extreme extent obviously )

And Raiden seems to have Big Boss's devil gene, even to the point it looked like at the end of Revengeance Raiden was turning in to a demon and the insinuation was Raiden was going to take over from Armstrong and buy world marshall or whatever.

Its superficial, but theres so many and its in the same franchise, some case the games running near side by side. With Raiden being the modern day Big Boss.

Of course for all the things in common theres a ton of things that they dont share. But their upbringing, the mission we played as them and the fact Raidens possible heel turn being the one we have been seeing for Big Boss in MGSV has me just thinking there musssst be something!
