Ryan, don't you mean Euro Extreme? :lol

I dunno why but I stopped around Fat man on regular Extreme. He's not hard, I dunno, I think I lost interest :lol

Did it :lecture

The Harrier and Vamp gave me the most difficulty. I remember being stunned at how fast you get killed by Olga in it :lol

Eh? When? So did you get the dog tags while you're at it?

Vamp was a walk in a park! Or rather, a "crouch" in a park. If you lay prone near the northern exit and equip the Nikita, he will NOT be able to hit you. You're welcome.

I still haven't done the RAY battle on extreme yet

RAY was the hardest, especially without any rations.

I tried that as well, I think the only difference is that there are zero rations as apposed to Extreme's limit of two.

It ain't too bad, but you basically need to take on every single RAY that you see in the background.

I had a lot of trouble with the harrier fight too.

I just haven't really sat down and spent enough time doing it yet. I've got all the dog tags on extreme so I sort of moved onto the VR missions.

I tried again recently but need to get back into the swing of it. The 2 rations are what is killing me. If only you were allowed 1 more :lol

Not on the HD version, but on the PS2 I did. I never knew that about the Vamp fight :lol

I was struggling with the 2 rations :lol

The Harrier fight would go smooth for me the first time, until he would hover next to the bridge and spray all those mini rockets all over the place...

Yeah they were the worst, I'd crouch on the stairs but some would sneak through.

And the homing one that set all the floor on fire!

I've done all the dog tags bar the very last guy on Normal, I missed him and I need to finish extreme first to go back and speed run the plant chapter and finish the MGS1 Snake VRs and I'm done (thank god)

The best thing to do outside of those, is when he flies away and fires a rock from afar... or when he drops those shrapnel bomb things... is to jump over the railing since you're invulnerable during the animation.

I wish I'd have known that at the time haha. I spent a good hour or so on that one boss!

I don't think I'll be doing another extreme run through for a while though :lol

Another review, from another French magazine (VideoGamer Fr)... And the same score (17 out 20) :lol

test-mgs51.jpg

+ the most complete mgs
+ real open world
+ buddy system
+ very well balanced gameplay
+ all kinds of freedom

- graphics are a bit disappointing
- characters don't evolve much
- 50 hours and not much (story) to tell
- it gets repetitive
- themes are barely touched upon

Ah man, I’m convinced that there just aren’t any great games being made anymore. This gen has been filled with nothing but disappointing games. Uncharted 4 is my last hope.
