Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah, first thing I thought of was if it were some hallucination of a demonic Volgin.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Is the little kid floating around in the gas mask Psycho Mantis? But the thing is it appears to be a female because of the hair. It's not out of the realm of possibility being Mantis since it's a child and it would make Mantis in 2005 in his 40's.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I wouldn't doubt it, ya never know. Big Boss needs to become "bad" already.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

At this point, I'm glad to watch his shoehorned *** die in MGS4. It should of been Snake blowing Big Boss's brains out.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Looks kind of like an oni/ogre/devil horn, but just one instead of two on each side in regards to the shrapnel.

This game was titled "Project Ogre" not too long ago, was it not? The demonic "Volgin" also had oni/ogre horns.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I've been wondering, has it been confirmed that MGS V/Phantom Pain is actually "Project Ogre"?

I was thinking that. At first I thought, "nah that's a girl" but then I remembered Psycho Mantis has a bit of a feminine aspect to his physique.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I really hope David Hayter does play a part in this. I think it'll go down like this. Hayter will voice the Ground Zero part and when the timeskip happens they will change the voice to the new actor. Then IF Solid Snake is in the game Hayter will be voicing him. Anyone else see it happening like this?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

i wonder why David Hayter wasnt asked to join in this time? i really liked his work on all the other metal gear games. also, is this for ps3 or ps4? metal gear games usually take some time to come out from the time they are announced so i dont know. it would be cool if we could get it for ps3 though.

I think KP wants to establish doyles voice as BB since a solid snake entrance would only mean hayter having the role. Aww yisss I can feel Solid Snake coming back already

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Haven't been tracking this.

So Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are the same game?

Big Boss ends up in a Coma for nine years and loses his arm, goes through some freaking hallucination while the hospital is under attack and is rescued by Ocelot?

Why is Big boss voice different, what happened to Hayter?

Looks like Peace Walker is integral to this. I tried to play the game in the Hd collection but hated how the gameplay was basically point A to point B then load then walk to point C then load.

That sounds good, in MGS4 they were different voice actors so it makes sense, but it's unlikely since David himself says they "didn't ask him" to be part of it, but who knows? Maybe Kojima is still trying to troll us.

I'm mean, David Hayter IS Solid Snake, I can live with the fact that someone else plays Big Boss but NO ONE can play Solid but Hayter.

I will agree with you on that :goodpost:

Did you just come back from a toy convention? :lol

Yeah, great news. I just hope that this leads to more Hot Toys figures.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I wish. Literally flew out of LGA 8:30 AM, arrived in Chicago at 10:30, my sister picked me up and I drove back to NY. She came home to visit and I didn't want her driving alone so I drove her back. '09 BMW M3, so I'm not complaining ;-)

I have a feeling HT will give us a Big Boss from this.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I wonder what happened to Kaz Miller.. In Peace Walker, he was assassinated but I am assuming that during the years that Big Boss was in a coma, he should have looked out for his mate. :dunno

Many questions, the long wait continues. :slap

Erm, have you forgotten?

He died just days prior to the events of MGS1.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Im happy they went with a different VA, since he is a different character - and looks it now. Hayter will always be Solid Snake though.
Hiring Doyle and Sutherland is a great step, hopefully we get more dramatic acting instead of that cartoony crap weve been getting!
When Hayter comes back i hope he delivers his lines like in MGS1(PS1), a much more naturalistic/realistic tone to Snake

I cant believe how good the graphics are in the trailer! Any HD download links yet?

LOL sounds like fun. Yeah, this is a great time to be an MGS collector. I just hope that Hot Toys continues this line. I wouldn't mind having an old Big Boss figure.

Yup. Plus, Kaz was never on Big Boss' side, in the first place. He was a Patriot spy, who trained Solid Snake and instructed him on how to kill Big Boss in Metal Gear 2. In a sense, Miller used both Big Boss and Solid Snake for his own ends. Even though his character might seem like a "good guy" in Peace Walker, he's far from it.
