Why didnt they just sell the tickets to cover the city's cost:duh
Because many thought it would be in "bad taste" to charge admission to a funeral/memorial (conveniently overlooking that so much of this thing was exploitation at its finest anyway).

My favorite part of the funeral. :monkey3:monkey5

The daughter talking though was pretty sad. Poor kid. I know what it was like to lose my dad at 26. I couldn't even imagine it at 11. :monkey2

He was JW most of his life, but supposedly converted to Islam within the past couple of years.

That turned out to be not true that he only was interested in finding out about it but never converted.

This is not a JW service. They don't even believe in prayer, nor do they have ministers or reverends.

Yeah that to me was the worse/sadest part of the whole thing. Actually made me feel at the brink of crying some as well. I was 23 when my dad went (sister was 14).

I knew I better share that key point of the memorial. :lol That picture doesn't even do her justice. She was absolutely beautiful! Big bright blue or green eyes too! :monkey5

Yeah saw her at the end and though she was really good looking, at first i had thought she was the guitarist from the last concert videos.

I just saw a clip of the daughter (Paris, I think?) speaking... Yeah, that was pretty devastating. :( But who was it that told her to "speak up!" and put the mic closer to her? Was that Janet?? IMHO, that was pretty wrong and extremely uncomfortable. But then, it's the Jacksons.

My heart did break for that little girl. :(

:lecture:lecture

Actually it helps put things in perspective...
To the world he was a star, an artist, a legend, a weirdo, and what not...
for the kids... well... their dad...

I was talking about Jon and Kat plus 8. :D

:wave

I think that was Latoya. Janet was in back with the hat.
