They might not. It's just something I'd like to see. We haven't had a good game representing the movie Trilogy since ROTK. Obviously nothing for The Hobbit since those are new. I have not finished it. I'm just to the point of the black captain.

As long as their "own" thing respects the lore then that's fine. :lecture

They definitely respect it, and I'm pretty excited to see where Monolith goes with the franchise.

as a personal rule I never complain about extra gameplay hours :rotfl
:lol :exactly:

Anyone else hoping this is a new era for Middle Earth games? I'd be up for more

Need help, guys!

Ushgol the Champion is somewhere in the Durthang Outskirts (stronghold area), games says to 'go to the mission start point' yet there isn't one showing....just to go there....am I missing something? He's the only Warlord left alive in my game. Thanks

Bought this yesterday, and man is it addictive. Dying to the same *******s over and over again, while they remind you of that fact is an excellent mechanic. I truly hate some of these uruks.

I hope we get more. I want them to be a little more inline with the lore. As I said earlier I want a great next gen game that covers the LOTR and Hobbit Trilogies.

Maybe you need to interrogate a captain to ascertain his whereabouts or activate his mission?

If he's still shadowed out that's the only way unless you stumble upon him.

He's unshadowed...I fought him twice and I got the 'Escaped' alert......now, he does show on the map, and i can go in and mark him, but just the whole area is lit up. Is this a glitch? When I booted it up today, same thing. Unshadowed, but mission start not showing

Same here. Similarian: the game

I wanna pick this up but can only afford one game this month and I like the look of the evil within. Really does look a great game . Does it get repetitive ?

Yes and no. For me, I enjoy doing the side mission stuff...breaks up the repetition. If you ignore those it might......I say 'go for it' as I have no regrets

I missed your post. I think they sort of respect it. The game itself is fun and several parts of it do feel like Middle-earth especially just running around killing Orcs as a Ranger. There are lore issues that do irk me a bit and as someone who is fairly hardcore about these things I have to turn my brain off a bit with them.

Can you all give me an example of a lore issue in this one? Curious? seems like they tread pretty lightly with it all......? But, I am no Middle Earth expert

I think it keeps in line with the movie lore fairly well. At no time do I not feel connected to middle earth, although ideally I would swap out the caragors for wargs and the graugs for trolls, for full LOTR immersion.

I think for me it's more that it's a completely made up story without any real reference to actual Tolkien events around it. PJ made stuff up for the movies but it at least was surrounded by actual reference to Tolkien events/characters.

I remember I was pretty snobbish about the Fellowship of the Ring when it first came out until I learned to separate it from the books which allowed me to enjoy both very much. I'm enjoying this game and it's basis in Middle Earth just not on the same level as the movies and books.

Thanks mate. Thinking about it, I wouldnt be able to play it til probably sunday so il wait on the reviews for the Evil within and see how it goes.

For me the whole Elf is a wraith thing that goes against what we know of wraiths. Only the Nazgul turned into wraiths because of the nine rings of power and Frodo would have because of the wound he got from the Witch King. I'm with Fritz a bit that the made up story with little of Tolkien's words wrapped around it kind of makes it feel like you have to take it all with a grain of salt. So I don't think they're out right disrespecting it but making up some of this stuff isn't as respectful as I would like to see.

After beating the game. Gotta say, this game has some of the worst main boss fights ever...

Maybe because it was rushed out?

There are instances in the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales of people appearing as wraiths and this is before the Nazgul existed so it must be possible in Tolkien's world. I'm guessing they took this loosely and applied it to their story although it's supposed to be based on movie lore.

I don't recall that but it's been a while since I read the unfinished tales and I don't recall that at all in the Sil. They may have been something else?

I don't think they were actual wraith's but people saying other people look like wraiths. I'd have to look it up to be sure but really I'm just reaching since I'm not all there on Elf as wraith thing either. :lol
