Agreed. There are some turn offs. I'm a Yankee fan and I have to admit the whole ARod testing the Free Agent market at the end of the season is disgusting, how much money does any individual truly need?

I'm 35 and the game of baseball is MUCH different now than what I saw as a kid. I' don't know how old you are but do you remember starting pitchers pitching into the 12th or 13th innings of tie games?

Since 2000, every American League team that has won Game 1 of the ALDS has lost the series....be careful:D

No nice way to but this but you couldn't be more wrong. How do you explain the 3 ALDS sweeps in the past 3 years?

SOX in '07 baby!!!!!

I'm only 24, and only really started to appreciate watching ball when I got to college. Even without the salary crap, that's liveable, but the different drug enhancements and crap like that just bother me because I like to watch and think of players as hard workers who push themselves naturally to the levels they hit, but now I can't watch some of the all star guys and not think they're juiced up.

It's all good. Just stop trying to ruin my good buzz. Sox up 1-0, Yanks down 0-1 :D:D:D:D:D

IN BOSTON WE TRUST!!!

Prediction for tomorrow's game. Dice-K turns in a decent performance, takes us to about the 7th inning with a score of about 5-3 in favor of the Sox, Okhajima comes in the 7th and 8th to clean up and my boy Papelbon comes in the 9th to put the nail in the coffin.

I love Papelbon when he's on fire, it's like magic the way his fast ball moves from his hand to the plate :)

The thing that really bothered me was that after the 1994 strike, a lot of people were turned off by baseball, including me. Suddenly steroids is such an important issue but when McGwire, Bonds and Sosa were hitting homeruns like crazy after the strike and bringing fans back to the game, the MLB turned a blind eye cause it was to their benefit.

What , no love for Gagne?

What , no love for Gagne?

I hate him, one of our 3 worst pickups this year; Gagne, Drew and Lugo and all get shipped off at the end of the year in my opnion. Gagne's probably the best for us of the 3, but he still has had some real struggles since he got here and I think we were fine before him.

I thought Drew would have a better season. As for Gagne, I'd keep him, but he probably wants to be a closer and that's not happening, unless they try Papelbon as a starter again. Hey it can't be as bad a Kei Igawa..:rotfl

Much as I'm a Papelbon fan, I'd have to see him pitch a game as a starter to judge, but based on what I have seen, I don't think he'd be effective in that capacity, I think he's strong as a power closer. Gagne will have to accept that for now, we have an ace closer and if he wants to get the call more, he'll have to earn it. Thing is, Papelbon is primarily used only for games where our lead is by a run or 2 only, blown away games they tend to use others, I think Ohkajima would have closed last night for Beckett if Josh couldn't finish.

I just realized something today: I freakin' hate those stupid little towels and pom-poms that people always swing around in the post-season.

The Sox swept the Angels in the 2004 ALDS.

Edit: I just noticed that someone already corrected you on this. Sorry about bringing it up again. Move along...Move along...
